Jim Hill Media has released information regarding Alexander, the Broken Pen, the short film which will be released with the 2009 Pixar film Up.
Alexander is a pen in a first grade classroom, who is the most popular writing utensil for Jack, a student. One day, Jack gets into an argument with another student Robbie, who gets revenge on Jack by breaking Alexander the pen. Alexander tries to put him back together, but when he can’t, he gives up. Alexander then has a chat with the pencils, markers, and crayons, who figure out a plan to get the teacher to fix him. When Alexander is fixed, he is given back to Jack, who moves him from his tin can in the classroom to a desk in Jack’s bedroom, where he will be safer from now on.
The film takes place in the 1960’s. For more info (warning: spoilers!!!) see the article.
Mods: If this is in the wrong place, please move it to another location.
MD: Sorry. “WALL·E” made this new WALL•E-style rickroll video that i just had to share with you guys. LG: Just messing with your mind. IIt’s not true afaik. Martin: THX. And, you know, i’ven’t thought about that, but you’re right! JF: Okay. Rachel: LOL! I sorta got the idea from Pixar’s Pencil Test animation, and just gave it a name, because “once you name it, you start getting attached to it”. LL9: Yeah, trying to get you back for “leaving”. I made it up.
A113 - I figured that it had something to do with Pencil Test. Also, for future reference, Pixar don’t usually give away the whole plot summary before the short film has been released.
LG: Thanks. “Now i have guilt.” Rachel: Yeah, but DIsney and Jim Hill tend to. But you’re right; i should’ve said it was a sneak preview. WALL·E: That was the idea. That’s what friends do. XD You’re welcome.
