Am I the only one who LOVED the ENTIRE Star Wars series?

well, am I?

cuz a lot of people are original trilogy purists and haters of Jar-Jar binks.

I don’t think any of the six movies did anything wrong, and I loved them all!!!

Yes, you are.

Maybe. At least so far yer the only one. I like the original Star Wars and (in chronological order) the 2nd and 3rd were good too. I’m not that familiar with the 5th and 6th ones and I didnt care for the 1st one. I’m not a fan of Jar-Jar Binks either, sorry. I AM a fan of R2-D2 which is half the reason I saw them in the first place

I loved the first one (yes, yes, I know) only because I was a wee kid when I saw it and to me the pod racing scene was the coolest thing I had ever seen before. So the love for that movie stuck.

The second one… meh…

The third one was cool, but not as good as the original three for sure.

Four, five, and six are gods. Nothing more to say about that.

lennonluvr9:

can u please explain your numbers a little bit better? I’m confused as 2 which ones u liked.

This is just me, but I never really liked the Star Wars series. Nope, never liked it. THe only thing I like about Star Wars were the light saber actions, but I never liked any of them.

I think I’ve seen one Star Wars film at some point…Attack of the Clones? Something like that. Aside from that film, I haven’t seen any of the others so I can’t really make a judgement on them. Either way, they never really seemed to be my sort of thing.

so, TSS, we’ll have 2 agree 2 disagree about Shrek and Star Wars, although one is really genius and the other is really garbage.

I think one is genious, and the other is just fun to watch. And I didn’t say Star Swars is garbage. I am saying is that Star Wars aren’t really my favorite.

Took the words right outta my mouth :stuck_out_tongue:
I LOVE the podracing scene!

And in Attack Of The Clones I liked that giant praying mantis monster thing in the arena… that was coooooool XD

I’m sad to say that I can not love the entire saga.
Real puppeteers, star destroyer miniatures, and real set are needed far more often. I don’t particularly care for episodes 1, 2, and 3 for reason that they lack these things for most of the movie. As is evident in the newest Indiana Jones flick, I think Lucas has lost touch with the key elements of storytelling. He’s all gimmicky CG nonsense and sight-gags, obsessed with the “look what I can do with a computer” style of movie making. I’m well aware this sounds hypocritical for me to say seeing as I’m going into this kind of thing. I’m not against CG, I’m against its abusive distraction away from story.
In episodes 4,5,and 6. His lines were beautifully written. Yoda’s “verbs last” sentence structure weren’t shoved down our throats. He transitioned between scenes without breaking the mood.
In the newer movies, the casting was off, at times the dialogue was forced and/or downright atrocious. You should not have to cringe at bad line delivery. He used popular-at-the-time cast members, instead of going out and finding new talent. Perhaps it wasn’t the actors, but to me it seemed that they had the personalities of cardboard cutouts.
The point I guess I’m trying to make is that Lucas sold out. And it greatly displeased me to see the star wars name treated in such a manner. Bare in mind that these are my opinions and I respect those who think that the first 3 episodes were awesome. But for me they are merely a mediocre spin-off of a beautifully cinematic trilogy.

clears throat And since I’m already sounding like an old crank, is there any chance we could have more grammatical correctness and less net speak? :sunglasses:

Well, I went into a bit of a hiatus, but now that I’m back posting, I can now share my two cents on this topic.

Right off the bat, you can probably tell by my screenname that I am a huge Star Wars fan. Now, being a huge fan does not necessarily imply loving all six films. But in my particular case, I absolutely loved each of the six. As a matter of fact, I view them all as equals.

Having been a fan for eleven years (yes, I keep track  ), I have quite a bit to say regarding this topic. But for now, I’d like to keep it brief and state that one of the main reasons I love the entire Star Wars saga is its allegorical depiction of good vs. evil, encompassed by an intriguing mythological background. Since each of the six films make this depiction on such an equal level, I therefore treat them as equals. There are, of course, other reasons, but this is one of the main ones.

Also, regarding Jar Jar Binks. I didn’t find his inclusion in the saga intrusive at all. Sure, he was a bit annoying (okay, very annoying - at least to most people). But - comparatively speaking - Sofia Copolla’s horrendous performance does not necessarily make The Godfather: Part III a bad movie.

I thought that was a little confusing but I said ‘in chronological order’ meaning the storyline. So I liked Star Wars IV: A New Hope, the original, best. Star Wars 5 and 6 I’m not that familiar with. I didnt care for Star Wars one, but did like Star Wars 2 and 3. Hope you didnt think I was dissing the original Star Wars! That’s a classic.

I like all of them, but the MAIN reason is DROIDS. I love those two, C-3PO & R2-D2. However I LOVE STAR TOURS at Disney Parks, Its a Droid paradise for me. I just love spotting droid in a scene.

I loved every last one of them…especially EP 3 because Obi Wan is completely kick-@$$ in that one. No, seriously, I LOVED Obi Wan in episode three. He launched his way up to my favorite character of the entire series!

I seen all six star wars movies and I love them all especially Return of the Jedi. I just love those cute little ewokes.

(flails and waves arms and jumps frantically) You’re definitely not the only one! I’m an absolute Star Wars geek and I love the entire series. I admit that I do have favourites, and that there are pros and cons to the movies, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love them all!

The Original Trilogy would be my favourite series, because of the originality of the story, but I really appreciate the New Trilogy because of all the new technology that they’ve been able to bring to the movies.

My favourite movie would be Return of the Jedi too, and my favourite character is definitely Obi Wan!(=
