I think they’re refering to Cars Toons which had Keith Ferguson doing a very good impression of Lightning McQueen because Owen was busy…
But who knows, John Lasseter says he’s open to impersonators if needed.
Yeah, I’m hoping martini is correct in that they’re referring to Cars Toons as opposed to the actual, official sequel of Cars. Keith Ferguson may be a very good impersonator (I didn’t really notice it wasn’t Owen Wilson in the Cars Toons) I still would prefer Owen Wilson to perform as Lightning, for consistency more than anything. Otherwise, Cars 2 will seem less and less like a good quality, original sequel, and more like something that should be straight-to-DVD, a route we don’t want Pixar to go down.
It also depends on which website you read this from. I dont know, I cant see Pixar doing a sequel without their lead character being voiced by the same person. One of the things I really liked about TS2 was the continuity, and I can only assume they’ll try and have as much consistency as possible. I hate it when a sequel has little or no continuity to the original and almost acts as if the original never happened.
Nah…Owen is going to voice Lightning in Cars 2.But that OW inpersonator stinks.I hate Lightning’s voice on Cars Toons!
Owen Wilsons voice has a special tweak to it.
Oh no he didn’t. Meh, I love Owen Wilson - as an actor. I love his work, I love Shanghai Noon and Knights, and I most definitely love his voice over as Lightning… even after his, not so recent breakdown.
Yeah, I may have been overreacting. I must have gotten something confused.
P.S. Not only is Cars 2 coming out in 2011, but so is a sequal to Drillbit Taylor! Two Owen Wilson sequals in one year! It’s a dream come true! Actually, my dream come true would be way different, but whatever.
Sorry 'bout the double post, but I would love it if the moderators locked this up. I overreacted and I think they weren’t talking about the sequal but the shorts. I feel like such a doofus! Oh well! Please lock it up. If I were a moderator, this thing would have been locked up long ago.
