I was rewatching the movies and noticed that the render for Sid’s backpack from 1 is the same or at least very similar to Andy’s backpack from 2

Nice, never noticed that. They re-use a lot of props from the first movie, sometimes intentionally (as in the yard sale), in other cases, just a shortcut. Sid’s toolbox and the road blockade thing he had in his yard re-appear as well.
Maybe they thought it wasteful to animate another backpack(they didn’t like making a lot of extra models back then). Especially when they had that one laying around in their files. At least they removed Sid’s Satanic drawings and his stickers. 
Andy’s so clean cut, that would have been weird.
I never noticed that. The zippers are different, and it might be a different color
