I am new here, and ive been hearing a lot about the program Anim8or. Before i joined this forum, i had never even heard of this program. I have heard of Maya, Flipboom, and a few other animating programs but never this particlar one.
Few questions…
Why is it so popular, what sets it apart from the other software programs?
If is expensive?
Where would i be able to get ahold of it?
I dont think animation studios use this program, i was under the impression that they all used Maya, but maybe im wrong?
I have not tried Anim8or - I have Blender. From what I have seen, Blender may have more features on it, and it is under a free license agreement, so any shorts, stills, etc. that you make on it are absolutely yours. You should probably check if Anim8or has the same agreement.
That is what I was told by someone in the industry, and I went with Blender, since anything that I make on it is mine, and it is free. Sorry, don’t have the links to the other ones right now. Maybe I’ll look them up again later…
And like I said in another thread on here, you can try searching Anim8or+Tutorials on Google. There are probably sites, (from others that do use it), that will show you how to do specific types of modeling.
Ill check out Blender this weekend. I dowloaded the link to Anim8or and it looks a bit out-dated, but i havent really had time to pla around with it too much.
