Anime?

No, I haven’t. There is so much anime, I don’t know where to start…

The shows pretty funny. I never even got intested in it until was forced to watch it on youtube XDD’
Your right about all the different animes though. It’s hard to keep up with.

Oy, let’s see… Yu-Gi-Oh! and Poke’mon . That’s about it…

Let’s see: Followed Pokemon for years, as well as Tenchi when it was on Cartoon Network (appreciating the Sci-Fi action back then, though now there’s the multitude of space chicks as well). Watched Yu-Gi-Oh’s original run and watching Naruto and Bo-bo-bo now, and occasionally I watch Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist when either of the two are on.
I’m also a huge fan of the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli in general.

I use that show to balance out Shippuuden at the end of the night. More often than not I have to cover my mouth so I don’t wake up others in my house. It’s that funny.

I watched some of Azumanga Daioh today… I can never stop watching them.

I have just gotten myself a little intrested in the DBZ series. I think it is pretty wacked out and crazy, but likeable all the same.

Trust me you’ll get hooked before you know it. Waked out and crazy? I’d say adrenaline-pumped! But yea, If you’re lookin for a great story, likeable characters, intense action, and humor, then DBZ’s you’re show.

I think I know a lot of friends at my school who are really, really obessed with the DBZ stuff. In fact, I think one of them was one of the people I hang out with alot before he graduated. I can see why people love DBZ so much. It can get you excited in a hurry.

I haven’t seen Dragon Ball Z in ages. Maybe it’s because I don’t have cable… they used to show it on one of my local channels.

If you really want a refresher for DBZ Bill, check out youtube. You can find almost any/every anime title on youtube.

Thanks for the info, TSS . I’ll check it out when I have time.

Yea Youtube’s got plenty… BTW now that I think about it DBZ played a big part in my art skillz as well! My people drawing skillz improved a whole lot after that phase, and I’ve still got pics! I’ll show if ya want…

EDIT: Oh yea, they sell DBZ on DVD too…

In America and Japan, what do you all think is the most populare anime out there?

Movie-wise, probably Akira or Studio Ghibli.

DB, in its many forms, has been popular for years, most among boys. Sailor Moon which was thoroughly wrecked by Dic also had a good run. Regrettably, not all the episodes reached the U.S.
Then there have bandwagon animes that come and good like the seasons: card captor sakura, pokemon, digimon, InuYasha, ect. I mention those
specifically because many lost interest in them long before the series ever concluded.
Those animes that were short enough to hold attention to the end, lke FMA, Ouran Host Club, ect. are also really popular.

A good way to know what’s popular is to check out the recent fanart sections of DA. Never fails.

I watched Digimon a lot back in the day… heheheh, when I first saw it, I thought it was a rip-off of Poke’mon .

From what I see and hear, Naruto has been a VERY big hit @@ Along with DBZ
still. That show has been out forever yet it’s still doing very good. I know Sailor Moon used to be a big hit in both America AND Japan. But the American version of it is screwed…-.- Theres quite a few anime that does good…I also know FMA does pretty well ^
^

Besides Naruto, I think one of the most popular recently was the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which I think just came out here. I’ve still yet to see the last 4 episodes, but it’s pretty cool.

What about Bleach? Are Americans crazy for Bleach?

I’ve read the first three volumes of the Bleach manga, but I haven’t seen the anime. I need to get cable.
