If you mean like a repeat of the opening of Toy Story 2, I wouldn’t think so cause Pixar is always wanting to do something different with each film. I have a gut feeling that Toy Story 3 will start with those home movies of Andy that were seen in the trailer.
No, I agree with Flik-E on this one too. As the crux of Toy Story 3 is Andy outgrowing his toys, the opening scene needs to emphasize on their early relationship together. It will probably be the home movies, or it might open with Andy playing with his toys like in TS1.
Well if they dont start with the home video for whatever reason, maybe start witha battle with young andy and all his toys like the one where woodys gets damaged. Then transition from that into the home video
But that’s just it: Pixar wouldn’t just do the same thing as before. The Toy Story 2 opening was memorable in itself, so they want real Buzz to stay memorable as part of that movie and try something new with him (hence the Spanish Buzz gag). Also there wouldn’t really be any point for such a scene now since Andy’s grown up and possibly grown out of the Buzz Lightyear toys/show. Yes it probably would be cool, but we can’t forget that the Toy Story films are not about flashy space action (that’s what Buzz Lightyear of Star Command was for) but about life from a toy’s point-of-view. I’m not saying they couldn’t have another scene like that, but that I just don’t see how or why.
I don’t want to spoil anything, or even try to second guess, but just for the sake of this topic I believe that the beginning minutes to Toy Story 3 is very similar to that of Toy Story 1. Based on the new TS3 Lego sets, and this interview http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/06/24/toy-story-3-tale-of-superhero-redemption-for-one-porky-character/ by John Ratzenberger, Andy is playing with his toys which then segues into the home videos.
So I guess they’ll make you think it’s really Andy and then show that it’s just old movies (which actually is the same kind of fake out opening as Toy Story 2). That’s already what I think it will be myself, but Ratzenberger’s comment about [spoil]Hamm being a villain and then a superhero[/spoil] makes no sense to me.
