Any fans of the true king of the monsters?

Any Godzilla

fans on the board or anyone else whose actually seen any of the 28 real Godzilla movies(American one doesn’t

count, that was a wimpy iguana) or Toho’s other monster films with Mothra, Rodan and the like?
Most other

Disney boards I’ve asked this question on have gotten basically blank stares, except for MiceChat. I hope I

don’t get the same result here…

Oooo! I’m a Godzilla fan!

Believe it or not, I have one of the old

movies on VHS. Hedorah was the monster featured in it.

I’m not really a fan of the actual movies, but

the monsters are flippin’ sweet. I love to play my Godzilla video games, and I own action figures of all

sorts.

Which monster is your favorite, FJ? Mine is Gigan, but I don’t recall seeing a figure of him

anywhere.

You need to see Final Wars. I swear, the redesign for Gigan looks vaguely like that the Planet

X aliens contracted it out to Syndrome’s whole weapons company. Even though the mech is supposedly 12,000 years

old in the film, it just looks like some sorta Omnidroid/Space Chicken hybrid.
I actually got my copy of

Godzilla vs Hedorah signed by the director of the film when I went to G-Fest. He’s apparently planning an IMAX

Godzilla film(with Godzilla fighting a Hedorah style monster called Deathla in Vegas), having gotten permission

from Toho to do so, but the trick is actually get the funding and with their project site down it doesn’t look

good.

EDIT: Favorite monster is probably Anguirus, just for his courage and never say die attitude in his

days of being Godzilla’s sidekick.

Now THAT is something to

see. :sunglasses:

Is Final Wars hard to come by, or any of the Godzilla movies for

that matter?

~~=oP

Final Wars is a

fine movie for dumb fun and I mean dumb 70’s Godzilla movie fun. Thing was that it flopped in the theaters from

overhype and bit of a lack of quality. In fact, Incredibles and Howl’s Moving Castle really beat the snot out of

it in theaters. Main thing I see with Gigan resembling the Omnidroid is the dark color scheme, segmented limbs

and the glowing red eye.

Final Wars, being the most recent of the movies to come out, shouldn’t be that

hard to find. I’ve seen it at Best Buy and Barnes and Noble. Some of Sony’s other releases might be difficult

to find considering how long the DVD’s have been out and the apparent lack of interest in the monster king. But

I suppose you could try ordering it or something if it’s not in.
Godzilla Raids Again and the 60’s Godzilla

vs Mothra are coming out to DVD in November from the same people that did the Gojira DVD.
