Any "Weird Al" fans out there?

Yeah, what’s even weird that 1 of my friend

shares the same b.day (day, month & yr) as me, we also share the same height, shoe size & same

school/tutor group…

KE: I hope I didn’t offend you or anything… :frowning:

Man alive… That is kind of cool, though.

Yeah, it was cool but it does get irritating when everybody keeps calling us 'Birthday

Buddies’ & the teachers always use us as an e.g. in class "What’s the similarities between these 2

students?"

Oh no! You didn’t offend me at all!

I think my first recolection of Weird Al was my friend playing "Your

Horoscope for Today" in his CD player one time. I haven’t really looked into his music again until

recently, though.

KE: Oh, good! (wipes sweat off brow)

AJD08: Isn’t that one of the funniest songs you’ve ever heard?

lol I know! The reason I think Weird Al is so successful is because he knows what to make fun of and when. s

many people there are who love pop culture, there’s just that many people willing to make fun of it. According

to the Pop Culture Theory of Inverse Relativity anyway…

ADJ08: Exactly. People love

crazy stuff like that.

From what I heard, Weird Al’ got his inspiration from Dr. Demento (who is also

very funny, coincidentally). If you listen to their songs side-by-side, you’ll hear the similarities.

Have you heard Weird Al’s song “Fat”? It’s a spoof of Michael Jackson’s “Bad”. I

think I wet my pants from laughing the first time I heard it… :stuck_out_tongue:

I have heard every single song. & that song was funny because the fact that I

was listening to it on my iPod in 6th Form & my fat friend just walk by & asked what I’m listening

too!

I think my favorite WierdAl Parody will have to be Star Wars American Pie.

Ah yes, of course… I never actually heard

that entire song all at once…

Marty17:

Haha!

The Star Swordsman: Yeah, that’s my favorite of Al’s parodies, as

well.

AJD08: Hmm. You should. It’s hilarious.

Still reckon ‘Jerry Springer’ & ‘A Complicated Song’ is genius!

I

especially adore the music.

sigh I still gotta wait 17 days before 'Straight Outta

Lynwood’ CD arrives…

I’d heard a few of his songs before, and of course I

thought he was extraordinarly funny, because he is, but I’d never really become a giant fan, but then my new

friend has a lot of his songs on her iPod, so now I’ve heard a lot more of his stuff and have absolutely fallen

in love with his music. Has anyone else heard “Weasel Stomping Day”? Most hilarious thing

EVER! I also like “Albuquerque,” because it’s just so weird… A little

on the long side, but that’s okay. I haven’t heard a whole lot of his spoofs, but of those that I have heard I

think the Star Wars American Pie would be my favorite.

That’s the CD that a lot

of the songs I’ve heard are on, and even though it’s not like there would have been any doubt, it is most

definitely worth the wait.

I know, I know…but still…16 more

days!

‘Weasal Stomping Day’? I haven’t even heard of that 1!
Anyway, yeah, ‘Alberquerque’ is 1 of

my faves & the Star Wars parodying ‘American Pie’ song is called ‘The Saga Begins’ just in case you’re

wondering…

It’s one of the songs on “Straight Outta Lynwood.” It is the

only song ever (heck, one of the only things ever) that the mere thought of makes me

giggle uncontrollably. Look forward to it.

I need to start getting at least some of his CDs, now that

I’ve become an actual, non-casual fan… Just a few more months until Christmas.

For those without the album (myself included), and have

not yet heard “Weasel Stomping Day,” you can go to the Straight Outta Lynwood page at Amazon.com

([url=Amazon.com

104-9890762-9887163?ie=UTF8&s=music]link[/url]) and listen to a sample. The 30 seconds I listened to left me,

as DElf so succinctly put it, giggling uncontrollably…

This is something I seriously want to listen to

all the way through:
[spoil]“Polkarama!” features Franz Ferdinand, Weezer, and

Coldplay.[/spoil]

Woohoo! Recieved the CD 15 days early! & already I

have a few faves especially ‘Trapped In The Drive-Thru’ & I absolutely love the CD case (smooth

design)!
