well, do you think someon would create an account on pixarplanet just to say"i dont like this show"
i think i was a little harsh with the"hate" thing, i do not hate the show, i just dont like it
well, smart humor? what is smart about candace going to the past and saying OVER AND OVER AGAIN "haha part of the museum ""haha part of the museum ""haha part of the museum ""haha part of the museum ""haha part of the museum
spongebob dont need backstory, but phineas and pherb are set in a more realistic universe, i mean, its too much too ask an episode with a flashback, maybe Dr. Doofensmirtz did something to them when they were younger
and i do agree that this show is MUCH BETTER than the other tv shows(like chowder and jhonny test), althought that doesnt make it good
something i keep noticing in new cartoon shows is that the humor is getting more simple, in the older 90 shows you neded to use your brain a little to catch the joke, but now in shows like chowder, the humor is really ah…dumb? and the kid doesnt need to think to understand it. i know cartoons are just for fun, but that is just a little observation
and i respect that you like it, but i do not think it can be compared to the old spongebob

No, I don't think so.

I didn't say you hated it. I just said I know people who either absolutly love it, or can't stand it. You, are in the "lukewarm" zone. You don't love it, you don't hate it.

I'm a little lost there..

Okay, I see what you've got there, and I see that. Except, if "they" means 'Phineas and Ferb' well, he's not related in any form or fashion to the boys, except through Perry, and he's only Perry's nemesis because he's an "evil villian"

It doesn't have much competition, does it?

Eh. I loved what we used to watch 'back in the day' and I've actually found a site that hosts old Nicktoons like "Doug" and quite a few more, but yeah, from that era. I think it may have some seasons of the "Rugrats" too (and not that version of when they're grown up). I'll see if I can find the link, and if anyone is interested, I'll post it.

Thank you. As compared to old Spongebob, I find them to be close.
But Spongebob was great in it's early years, I won't argue that.
I actually think it’s the one where Spongebob develops a fear of Krabby Patties since that was the first episode of season 4, where you could tell that something was off about the show. I think maybe there were some small hints of declining quality in the movie as well.
Believe it or not, Patrick was actually a lot smarter as a character in the 1st season but then quickly became dumber as the show went on (which is something that The Simpsons also had happen with Homer). One example of how less dumb he was early on was the episode where Patrick actually gives Spongebob instructions to pass his boating test by talking to him through walkie-talkies, and at one point even says “Thinking straight is what I do!”. Of course the Patrick fans are familiar with now is never known to come up with any well thought out plan such as that, let alone “think straight”. I think the real decline with the characters though is just that Spongebob and Patrick have both gotten really dumb.
I think the biggest factor in the ruining of the show is that Spongebob and Patrick have basically (d)evolved into big, naive babies. In the first few seasons, Spongebob acted more like a well-intended but disaster-prone and lighthearted adult. But now he cries in every single episode. Plus, a lot of the new episodes are now based on specific situations. Like, in the first few seasons the episodes just began on a regular old day and the characters’ personalities sort of crafted the situation of the story. However, in a lot of the new episodes the episode opens with some situation, like some event happening in the town. I think it takes away from a lot of the charm of the show.
I think that they really need to drop the whole idea of Plankton trying to steal the formula. Why doesn’t he just become partners with Mr. Krabs? Or, create inventions that are actually helpful to people and sell those?!! And where is he getting the money to actually make those formula stealing inventions if he never has a customer?! Honestly…
