Anyone interested in film/game developing?

This thread is for anyone who’s interested in games and movies beyond the watching and analyzing.

I’ll start: I happen to be very much into game music, and I hope to be able to write music for one eventually.

Nice, I love listening to some videogame soundtracks. Good luck with that.

I’m interested in film and am currently taking a course in Media Production so that I can go on to direct my own films, it’s been my dream for a while now.

Video game music can be what makes or breaks the game, so I wish you good luck with that.

At one point I was interested in becoming an Animator for video games or films but I don’t really have the technical experience for it, so if I did end up working in games it would be as a conceept artist if anything.

I wanna write for animation so bad it hurts somedays.

I’m happy to see that my thread has been noticed.

I’ve actually already made some music demos. All of these particular pieces are based on Randall’s theme from M.I. Enjoy!

Well, I’m actually studying to become a filmmaker, so I think I fit in this board.

I want to do a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show someday.

I want to work with either Rare or Pixar one day…

I love music and want to be able to remix 'em. I don’t know any good programs for remixing/creating your own music, any suggestions? I’m a n00b BTW…

Or to work as a concept artist. Man I’d love to be a concept artist one day.

I was actually going to make a video game just a couple of months ago, but I ended up not doing it just because that really isn’t my field (I’m sticking to computer animating) .

I am actually going to make a live-action Danny Phantom movie, although it might just end up being me on screen for two hours… Also, I already have the title of the movie, “Danny Phantom and The Mask Of Darkness”.

I agree to that. I think that’s one of the strengths of the Sonic the Hedgehog games (and I mean the classic ones, not so much when they started having so much rock music). I guess I’m saying that cause of listening to the music for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, which is pretty good despite what some fans say.

As I’ve said before, I’m a bit of a cartoonist so I kind of analyze cartoons for that. Don’t think I’d be good at music.

I’m working to become a director/screenwriter someday; I already have a couple of ideas for original films that I’m toying with right now.

I’m working to become a game developer.
I’d love to do Pixar games.

Film is the number one thing I want to work in someday. I don’t care what it is: directing, writing…I’d do any of it. Pixar would be great, but with how competetive it is to get in I really don’t know.

If I worked on films, I’d work at Pixar. If I worked on games, I’d work at Rockstar Games. Said enough.

I’m not entirely sure where I want to be.

On one hand, I’m totally into cartoons, animation, etc (like most of you) and would like to get into storyboarding or animation.

On another hand, I’m really into Video Games and have made a few myself, and am kinda interested in Game Design.

So it’s really a mixed bag for me.

Also, to fan some flames:

I wish you good luck! I’m really into Video Game music too, to the point that I have a good 20 GB of it.

From what I understand, Rare just hasn’t been the same since Microsoft bought them over… Even their own fan-community gave up on them. :S

Most ReMixers use FL Studio to remix. It’s really expensive, but you can use the trial version and see if it’s something you can handle! (The only thing the Trial version doesn’t let you do is save projects. You can still export them though!)

I’d have to say that honestly, I think (almost) all Sonic games have had good soundtracks. I mean, yea, the Rock was definitely different, but IMO, it wasn’t that bad. You want REAL Bad music? How about Sonic Jam for the Game.Com?

Just to throw another opinion in the bag, I think using all synthesized instruments for Sonic 4 was a horrible idea, but admittedly (outside of maybe CSZ2) The soundtrack isn’t that bad.

Sorry about the hiatus, everyone.

Really? Maybe it’s just because I’m a synth-nut, but I only have a few GB dedicated to games out of 10 to 11 GB.

Well, to me, all the GOOD sequencers involve paying a significant amount of cash, new. Logic Pro, for me, cost several hundred dollars.

In all honesty, I like synthesized soundtracks; hence, part of why Terminator 2 is one of my favorites.
