Anyone notice this bit of irony?

I’ve seen WALL-E a few times in theaters (three to be exact, today my third) And one line stuck with me.

(to Auto) Captain: I don’t WANNA survive! I wanna LIVE!

And I remember thinking about what Remy said in the beginning of Ratatouille about humans:

Remy: They don’t just survive, they LIVE, they create.

I thought it was ironic that, should these two movies be in the same universe, in between 700 years humans went from living to surviving, and that both films have characters that would rather live than survive. Now there are several characters like that, but I’m always going to think about the Captain when I hear that line in Ratatouille. [/spoiler]

Ooooh, good catch. That is really cool. Remy would be proud

i noticed that too

Heh, cool. I hadn’t noticed that. I wonder if either of the films “borrowed” that line from the other.

That’s actually my favorite line in Wall-e. The passion in the captain’s voice and the animation in that moment sends chills up my spine every time!

Wow I should have noticed that.

…I keep getting crossover ideas today.

I think the line was they discover, not they live though, but close enough.

Well, I never really noticed that, but I thought that was a clever concept to grasp.
