Oooh, such a cool theme… and all the drawings that have been posted are awesome!!! I especially like Violet’s, though. It’s so darn cute, just the way she drew everything!!! <3
I actually did this a while back; it’s a crappy pile of sketches I did in my journal (with PEN hoooomygosh eww) titled Cars Meet Robots, and when I saw the title of this month’s theme I immediately thought of that sketch dump. So I hope you enjoy it for the humor at most, 'cuz the drawings are pieces of crap.

TDIT: OMG, we should totally make that a new Internet meme! Who else is gonna jump on the bandwagon?!
Hannahmation Thank you ! That Remy and Russell drawing is pretty awesome, itself . Though it’s very simple, it was done with the utmost creativity. And the quote is excellent ! That’s too funny! Great job !
thedriveintheatre- Thanks for the compliment . And, trust me, I don’t mind people repeating themselves with comments like that . Great drawing, BTW!
little_chef_eva09- Thanks ! And the “Cars Meet Robots” drawing is totally awesome ! It’s very funny, and you were clever in using almost all quotes from the movie. It makes the characters seem more true-to-character. And I’ve gotta give ya props for being able to draw all those mechanical objects. As I can barely turn out a robot. And you put faces and personalities on them, to-boot. It’s awesome little chef ! Awesome job!
Alrighty. Time for my lazy (or rather educationally exhausted) bones to get a new jam going. So let’s start!
This one’s theme is near and dear to me. Heck, it’s near and dear to many of us. I’m talking 2D animation! In honor of The Princess and the Frog’s rapidly approaching release date I think it’d be pretty sweet pixar characters and traditional animated character should share the screen. It’s 2D meets 3D!
Same basic rules as usually. There has to be at least one pixar character. There also has to be at least one traditional hand drawn character. They can be from any studio, though it’s safe to say a lot of us will be thinking disney (prove me wrong if you dare )
So kids. Get drawing! I’m leaving this up until after the new year, so we have the holiday breaks to geek out.
Oh, and apologies all around for my random disappearance and lack of jamz upkeep. My film and classes have me running around like a mad woman. ^^;
thewisecookiesheet- Thanks! Glad you liked the theme !
Haunt- Ah, cool ! Great theme! I think I’ve already got an idea for this. AWESOME idea! Glad I’ve got more time, though. Thanks for the update, Haunt !
Haunt: Awesome new theme! That is probably my FAVORITE theme in this Art Jamz. I hope I can have enough time (and patience) to make one! I mean, I’ve come up with random crossovers like this all the time, being the Disney/movie geek I am, but once I settle down to start drawing I just blank out. I think I may participate in this one. I hope I don’t forget! BUt even if I don’t manage to participate, it’d be exciting to see what everyone else has come up with!!!
waves hand around like an idiot Question! By tradisional, do you mean that the animation had to be traditionally inked and colored, or can it be from the days of digitally painted 2D? Also, does it have to be a movie, or can it be a TV show/short,stuff like that?
^Traditional as in hand drawn. Ink and pen or digital color count under this. As for the non-film characters. I guess that’s ok. My initial idea was strictly film based, but who am I to curb the creative process. The choice is yours. The point above all else is have fun.
See? Lilo is barely using any effort as Stitch is piggybacking her and tugging easily with one hand because of his super strength. This sketch took hours and a lot of tries to get the characters right but I did it!
I’m not that satisfied with Russell that much nor am I one-hundred percent proud of Stitch’s position. But I definitely wanted him behind Lilo even though there wasn’t enough room unless he stood on her…
Another thing is I don’t have enough time to color it right now, so it’ll be as it is for at least the rest of this year (which is not very long, heheh). Plus, there are some dark smudges that’ll get in the way, so I’ll fix that way later.
Nice entry, bright dot-dasher! I love the idea and it sounds like it was a difficult one to put on paper, but you’ve done really well. All the characters look great, in proportion and are very recognisable, especially in the case of Stitch who I think you’ve got spot on. Drawing him piggy-backing Lilo must’ve been really difficult, but you’ve managed well, though his foot looks like it’s slightly in the wrong position. Russell’s pose is great, it’s very clear that he’s putting a lot of effort into pulling by the way he’s leaning back- another difficult thing to achieve, but you’ve done it! Great work!
Very well done, Netbug009 ! I really love all the colors and the simplistic style you used. Very nice. You did a great job!
Awesome one, bright dot-dasher ! I think Stitch looks especially well drawn! I can’t find anything what-so-ever wrong with him! It looks great!
Alright, I know I’m an extremely late arrival to this Art Jam, but I still wanted to get my entry in! So, here it is! My 2D-3D crossover !
Please, excuse all the mistakes, I know I made a lot of them. But I did this completely from memory, because I had lost the picture I had for Lampy and didn’t print one out for Luxo. Sorry about the writing paper as well. I was rushing. Ugh! I could kick myself for not taking the time to do it better! Bad artist! Bad! Sigh Well, I hope you still like it !
I think it’s ok if yours is slightly late, though that’s not up to me…
I think your crossover sketch is creative and an excellent idea! Neatly pulled off and impressive for something drawn completely from memory without a reference in front of you. I never would’ve thought of crossing over The Brave Little Toaster with Luxo. Great job!
AWWWW, that is sooooo cute, Violet! Lampy was my FAVORITE when I was a kid (okay, tied with Blankie… ), I love the Brave Little Toaster! <3 The only thing I could critique on are the bases of the lamps: when drawing from a straight-on angle like that, the bases would be more flattened and straight-looking as opposed to actually drawing them as circles. However, not a bad drawing at all! I especially love the way you’ve inked this.
Netbug and BDD, yours look awesome, too! Great job, guys!
I wonder if there’s still time for me to whip up something, cuz I had an idea the other night and now I can’t remember it… scratches head
