Bedtime Stories

Disney is bringing us a new live action movie called Bedtime Stories. Check it out: youtube.com/watch?v=QM4tgw8_ … re=related

I for one am excited for it. It has an intersting concept. What are your thoughts?

Ah, yes, another Adam Sandler comedy.

It’s funny, I didn’t got interested in his works till recently, and I must say that I’m glad that I did; he’s quite a comedian and, according to sources, he’s quite a nice guy, too.

I had already watched this trailer while I was browsing the site provided by Wall_E21 in his Up trailer thread, and I was quite pleased with it, having the comedy king (or at least, prince) starring in a Disney production. I’m actually quite proud of Disney this time to have hired such a great talent.

I can’t wait to watch this myself, too. It seems like a great movie with an interesting plot line which Adam seems to be playing out nowadays rather than ordinary story lines with more realism in them - but I prefer fictitious tales over ol’ boring documentaries any day. :stuck_out_tongue:

OH! I saw that trailer before, and am definitely looking forward to it. Sure, Adam Sandler has his flops, but so far I’ve never not enjoyed a movie with him in it.

Although, it pretty much resembles Inkheart now that I think of it … but, not so much. It’d definitely be ridiculed as one though, but I’ll still see it.

Yay, I love a bit of Adam Sandler. Not only because Steve Buscemi has been a supporting character in loads of his movies, but I find him pretty funny in his own right. Adam Sandler when he’s angry is just hilarious.

I doubt I’ll see this one in the cinema, but it’s something I’d be happy to watch on TV when it comes out then.

Fairly Odd New Yorker: I agree, I don’t think I’ve seen an Adam Sandler movie I didn’t like!

I saw the trailer too and I think this one looks pretty good. It’s not just his usual antics – I like that it has those fantasy elements mixed in. I’d rather see it in the theater because of that – it has some pretty cool special effects that you don’t usually see in Adam Sandler movies!

I want to see this! I love Adam Sandler movies and this looks like an entertaining movie. Actually, I didn’t know that this was Disney until just yesterday.

I saw the trailer to this movie and it looks like a really funny movie. I am intrested in watching it. I really like Adam Sandler.

BDD: Are you referencing the movie in your sig? I don’t remember hearing that line in the trailer or seeing it as a poster tagline…

This looks like a mix between Sandler’s previous outing, Click, Stranger Than Fiction, and The Science of Sleep. :open_mouth:

But I think it looks intriguing. Plus, it’s the Sandler and Disney! Can’t wait to follow the adventures of ‘Skeetercus’!

Seems like we’re all Adam Sandler fans

There’s a couple new vids out from the film: a Sneak Peak and a Clip w/ Russell Brand (a British comedian)

I don’t know tooo much about Russell Brand, but I liked himt in Forgetting Sarah Marshall so I’m thinking he’ll def add more laughs!! Anybody in the UK have thoughts on him & Adam Sandler as a comedy team?

Eugh. Russell Brand. Okay, this film already sucks. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just an example of ‘Russell Brand’ humour- ringing up an elderly, famous retired TV star (Manuel from Fawlty Towers, if anyone else has watched it) and leaving the most rude messages you could possibly think of on his answerphone.

Oh, and this was all broadcast on the radio.

I don’t believe Adam Sandler would agree to work with possibly the most irritating person on the planet. Yes, he is worse than George Bush.

This film has gone from a ‘I might see it in the cinema if there’s nothing else on’ type thing, to ‘I’ll probably catch it on TV at some point’.

Is it just me…or is everyone so far mentioning Adam Sandler at least once? =)
Well, I’m going to watch it because I love a good comedy mixed with other things like a little heroic action, fantasy, and science fiction. Not only because of the actors like Adam Sandler, but because I really like the concept, and seems like a pretty cool live action Disney film after Enchanted.
I wonder if the kids in the movie even know what they’re capable of…

thedriveintheatre: Yeah, I was. I was waiting for someone to point that out. It wasn’t exactly in the trailer, but at the beginning of the year, Movie Surfers on Disney Channel showed short previews of upcoming films from Disney in 2008, and I heard that quote. It must have been cut off in the final trailer, or something.

lizardgirl: Oh no, that Russell Brand news makes me kinda sad! I heard he had some kind of controversy over there but didn’t know the details. Maybe a Steve Buscemi cameo will offset it?

bdd:: Not just you, I think we all like us some Adam Sandler!

OT: Hey lizardgirl, have you heard of this upcoming movie with Steve Buscemi in it? It’s called G-FORCE about specially trained guinea pigs trying to save the world. Looks like he’ll be voicing one of the guinea pigs.

bdd: Is this the Movie Sufers video you were talking about? I just saw it on Disney’s website and didn’t hear that quote so not sure if it’s the same or different…

CoCoMeister- Yup, I’ve heard about that one. Not entirely sure about it, but we’ll see… Thanks for the link, though.

Not a bad concept. I’m not much of a fan of Adam Sandler though. I think the only part I’d be interested in seeing would be the Roman bit.

I think the galaxy part looks pretty cool too!!

I just joined the Facebook group…keeps me updated on all the new videos, posters, news, etc so I don’t have to keep looking everywhere

No, it wasn’t. In the beginning of the year, Movie Surfers featured sneak peaks of the new movies of 2008- it included other movies as well.
But lately I’ve seen a new Bedtime Stories sneak peek on Disney Channel, and they said “Anything can happen” again.
Can’t seem to find it on YouTube yet, though.

Hmm. Well, I’m planning on watching it with my nephews this week (they’re in town for the holidays and 'tis tradition we go to a movie at some point). I saw a review from The Hollywood Reporter and it seems like it’ll be a pretty good family flick! I’ll let you guys know what I think

I am looking forward to seeing this, not as much as Bolt though in February when it comes out.
Seeing this on the 3rd January 2009. :sunglasses:

It’s a cute movie! I saw it with my nephews over the break and they really enjoyed it. It had some of that Sandler humor that I’m used to and enjoy but it was toned down enough so I wasn’t uncomfortable watching with them either (and some of the stuff went over their heads.) I saw it because it seemed like a happy movie (it was) and because I love Sandler, but I was actually impressed with the whole cast! Sorry lizardgirl, but I thought Brand was hilarious and I liked seeing Guy Pearce in a goofy role for once (he’s so serious in like 99% of his movies.) So anyways, that’s my review
