Secrets Of The Deep (Impossible Pictures/Discovery Channel)
Camp Lazlo: Where’s Lazlo? (Cartoon Network)
These are the Creative Arts Emmys and will be awarded in an untelevised ceremony on September 8th.
Thanks to “CCook” of the Never Forgotten Foster’s Home Community Forum for providing this information!
Needless to say, I was quite thrilled to see that Good Wilt Hunting was among the nominees!
I hope either Camp Lazlo or Foster’s wins in the latter field. I’ve seen both hour-long episodes, and while Camp Lazlo is more fun and colourful, Good Wilt Hunting has a better chance since it focuses on a very important story that fans were constantly wondering about.
Interesting choices they picked for the short animated program. I dont watch any of them except for the Simpsons. I’m not sure if I saw that episode though. For the long one though I’m certainly hoping Good Wilt Hunting wins. I saw that one and I really enjoyed it. I’ve only seen bits of Where’s Lazlo but I do find the normal episodes amusing, mainly because of that elephant, Raj.
UPDATE: Good Wilt Hunting was awarded a special juried Emmy(non-televised) for “Background Key Design”, received by Dave Dunnet, on August 27. This is NOT the award for Best Animated Feature, which it’s been nominated for, but at least it has already picked up one Emmy already. Congrats to Craig and the Crew!
I wonder if there’s gonna be any love for South Park or Robot Chicken. The WoW episode of SP was freakin’ hilarious and RC usually has a lot of funny bits in it.
But I guess the awards aren’t really about comedy.
Yeah, they’re not really about comedy. I never got into Robot Chicken myself. I watched about half an episode once and didnt like the style of ‘animation’ they were doing. I’m not really sure what the technical term is for what they do, or if there even is a technical term for it.
The awards were given out on Saturday, and sadly(for me, anyway), Good Wilt Hunting did not win. The “Camp Lazlo” episode, “Where’s Lazlo?”, did. Oh, well, at least it was a CN show, but apparently the judges went strictly for the comedy.
I’m disappointed that Avatar, Hellboy, and Robot Chicken didn’t win, but kudos to South Park for winning with “Make Love, Not Warcraft”. That was an amazing episode.
