Ha! You know, I didn’t really know what to make of that trailer when I first saw it in theaters a week or two ago. I laughed once or twice, but was a bit bewildered nevertheless. Now, however, it’s obvious that this is just another loose road which Walt Disney Studios has taken in an attempt to nab a buck or two. To be honest, I think it looks pretty… stupid.
I didn’t vote for either option because, honestly, I know what the true intentions behind this production are about, and what the basic plot of the film is, but if the question centers around whether or not I understood the story-line from the beginning then I would have to say “no”. (snigger)
It looks obnoxiously cute. And disturbing. And I dun’t like the rapping - that made it extremely stupid, aside from the singing.
I have two chihuahuas (they’re my brother’s) and the last thing I want to do is see them dance like that!
What’s really going to stink is, like 101 Dalmatians, kids will say “Oh mommy they’re so cute, I want one” and they’ll get one, and find out that they’re obnoxious dogs. They’re like any small dog - they pick one person to be their chosen, and bite anyone else who tries to go near them. It gets worse as they get older.
(They’ll either figure out that they’re nasty, or that dogs in general require a lot of work and they won’t be up to that. )
Mine aren’t exactly mean, but they’re only half chihuahua - their father was a mutt, Jack Russell mix (not a very good mix!) and they’re kinda … well, thick in the head. They’re dim-witted.
Mitch: You’re genius. BTW, I’ve seen this sooo many times here, but…what does (snigger) mean? Is that like an evil laugh or something? FONY: Yes, the rapping! LOL! Oh, PJ Russells are sooo cute! TSS: Surprise you how? Like it surprised me? xD
That one line in Papi’s rap, “Yo, hold the bun!”, was just…plain…SICK. That dinsey. A little worried here. <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/youwhaaa.gif” alt=“o_0;;” title="You
That was the worst film I have ever seen a preview for. I was thinking: they better be joking! I will probably never want to see that movie even though I love dogs and puppies. and this was me when i saw the trailer: <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/youwhaaa.gif” alt=“o_0;;” title="You
Ha! Well, “sniggering” is my own way of “snickering” – both words have the same definition, only they’re spelled differently (obviously). Basically, it suggests that someone is giggling in a malicious and/or devious fashion. Or, if you’d like to be more correct, the Webster’s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary of the English Language states that it means…
" snick-er, v.i.1.to laugh in a half-suppressed, indecorous or disrespectful manner…"
I just exercise the word for when I want to laugh in a comical, tender, critical, or self-satisfied manner though.
He said that? I didn’t even hear it! I’ll have to listen for that line the next time I watch the video.
Don’t get me wrong- I love dogs, and them being mixed with ancient history sounds interesting. But the trailer wasn’t that good. If this movie is good, the trailer barely explains it.
And does it take place in modern times or ancient times???
Well, I don’t remember an ancient Beverly Hills civilization in the history books, so this ancient Mayan stuff is probably just something stupid supposed to be entertaining only because the Chihuahua is of Mexican origin.
Also, with all the dogs wearing the headdresses, shouldn’t Papi, the “emperor”, be the only one wearing it, and for some reason, all his servants are??? Do your research, Disney! And go to college again!!!
Saw the trailer like, last week, and my most honest thinking believes is that this is going to be a box office bomb and is one of the most pathetic movies Disney has ever created. Time will tell if my gut is right…
Well, like bright said, it’s probably not fair for me to judge a film by it’s trailer too much, but it kinda looks like just another lame plot film with cute dogs to get people to go see it anyway. Mom is gonna make me see it at least on DVD though, since she loves dogs so much. I’m scared. XD
It is my fave word to use! I like to sound it out - Puh-THE-tic!
Isn’t the whole point of a trailer to entice movie-goers? They (the producers) market teasers and full length trailers in order to draw you (the consumer) into the moive they (the producers) are making. Thus is the basis of the market system - if you like it, you buy it! Or in this case - if you like it, go see it! If I don’t like the trailer for a movie, and if it does not draw me into the story line, I won’t pay 5$ (additional fees for popcorn and drink and taxes) to view it.
So the whole idea of a trailer is for the viewer to judge that trailer to determine whether or not they want to see that movie. I might show a little grace to a teaser, and wait 'till the full version, but in this case I can tell right off the bat this is not something I’ll enjoy or be interested in.
And for those of you who are confused about the movie’s plot line…
While on vacation in Mexico, Chloe, a ritzy Beverly Hills chihuahua, finds herself lost and in need of assistance in order to get back home.
Tagline: 50% Warrior. 50% Lover. 100% Chihuahua. (Thank you IMDB)
okay, you know what? you guys are probably seriously reigning in your opinions, but i won’t reign in mine…
This sucks! It’s racist against Mexicans, It’s got the worst animation I’ve seen in a long time, and the rapping…I mean, what the?
Come on!!!
This movie is going to be awful along with ‘HSM3,’ It will add to one of the worst fall movie seasons ever! (except for the superhero movie ‘Thor’ that connects with The Avengers plot in “Iron Man” and “The Incredible HULK”)
Please. Dont see this awful, awful film.
(And how many times do they say chihuahua in the teaser? i mean, what the heck?!)
(And why do you even care about the plot? even if it did have a real plot, it’d still be a complete waste of time.)
Seriously, you need to chill. You’re sounding as if you’ll shoot up a town out of pure hatred for a silly film. If you hate it so much, ignore it. It annoys me, but to rant and rave about how much I hate it would be pointless (and a waste of time). It only makes you look crazy.
I don’t think Disney expects you to take the movie seriously. I might go see it at the cinemas with a few friends for a laugh, because lets face, it’s going to be silly enough for that. I think a lot of people might do that just out of curiosity. If I don’t see in cinema, i’ll rent it. Simple as that.
TS2: Not need to yell and that kind of language isn’t tolerated here.
My big fear not is dog theft. Times are touhg and people are looking for any way to make/save money. A popular dog breed is a great way for low-lives to do it too.
Once the popularity of chihuahuas goes up I fear for the safety of my own dog. He’s a papillion/pomeranian mix and looks very much like a long coated chihuahua. Dog theft is a somewhat common crime in detroit. I mean, I never made a habit of leaving my dog in the car and I’m certainly not going to now. Worse off, he’s only 7lbs. Someone could run right up, snatch him off the ground or from my arms and be gone.
I know I sound like a nutter but it really does happen!
