My morning began at 3:30 AM, and I was shockingly brisk. The Disney Store opened at 5 AM. I nabbed the giant plushies of Tiny and Emile (both originally $100 each) for a total of $80! Plus, the Ratatouille action figures cost me a few bucks each rather than $12.50 each. Later I’ll post a photo of me with my giant Emile to show you exactly how giant he is.
I saved 60% on 2 nice pairs of boots at JCPenney, and I dubbed the brown ones my “Zelda boots”. Heheh.
I decided to screw my Cars die-cast hunt for the day because the line wait at Toys R Us was approximately 2½ hours, and the other stores were even worse. For once, I’m lucky I didn’t come across a new car.
YAWN Nap time. When I awake, my brother will finally watch Ratatouille with me. I hope he enjoys it. He doesn’t seem to be a fan of Brad Bird’s influence on Pixar’s films.
So where were all of you Black Friday shoppers at?
I’m staying home. Avoiding those insane crowds. Homestar Runner’s thanksgiving short this year has the perfect summary of today: www.homestarrunner.com/thanks07.html
Oh my lord, I’m definitely staying home. Heheheh, Khol’s (to use the wrong spelling I think, heh) opened it’s doors at 4:00 AM this morning here. There were many people shopping yesterday as a matter of fact, which is understandable. That’s what I would do. A warning though to anyone who is planning to buy a television : DO NOT get a extended warrenty. Believe me when I say this, it will cause far more problems than good. They had a whole news story on the topic last night on the news (FOX 6 News at 9:00 PM) , which they played about three times. People were lined up at one store ( I forget the name) with chairs, sleeping bags, etc. One person had to improvize with a towel because she forgot a blanket. So, yeah, I’m not going shopping this weekend at all. But good luck to any member who is. Hope you don’t get run over by parading customers. Heheheh.
The cool thing about this is since I live in the city, while everyone’s out shopping the place is deserted! Kinda reminds me of how snow days can be around herre.
I would’ve joined in on the fun if I had two things: money, and time.
ha ! not that crzy to be going around shopping ! although … did the disney store have any giant Docs ? lol … no , i still wouldn’t go shopping for that … besides i’m with my dad and i said no gifts because i’m going to new york city in april with all of my friends ( yes dA people , that includes fiyero ;p ) …
Sounds nice to get good deals on things, but seriously … I have been spending the last few weeks trying to tear myself away from most of the awesome toys I have. (Inspired by the show Clean House, yay! xD) I wanted to get my money’s worth outta them but they’re off to the flea market. And sadly, I have to work this Sunday, so I’ll be there to see them end up being sold for a mere dollar. But none went easy of course- I thought long and hard about selling them …
So … one of these days, when most of my junk is gone or I am drawn to a certain item in particular … I shall brave the crazy crowds! xD I should be used to them by now but man they are just so freakin’ crazy on this island.
Yeah - I was definitely the greeter at the Disney Store today LOL. Worked from 8:30-4:30 which was a lot of work but very fun. The store was amazingly crowded. This was my first Black Friday working and I’d never seen anything like it. We had a sale from opening til 10AM where everything in the store was an additional 20% off so it was hilarious watching people for the last 10-15 minutes trying to grab things and jump in line so they didn’t miss out. And of course our quick change taking down all the 20% off signs in under 60 seconds. My feet are killing me now an my mouth hurts from smiling. Good to see business up though, most people walking out without anything did so cause they didn’t want to wait in the line.
'Round town though things were crazy. Miromar Outlets opened up at midnight!!! And are staying open 'til 11PM. Some places also reported lines starting to form at 11PM… WEDNESDAY night! Don’t people even celebrate Thanksgiving anymore???
Yesterday me and the guys looked through the various adds for the Black Friday specials. Morely we were interested in consoles and movies heh heh.
Managed to find two games I was hunting for were actually shown in the Gamestop ad with $10.00 off all of’em. Bad news was it was a 7-11 early and we wouldn’t be able to get’em.
Good news is they had the same deal on their site, so we placed an order and they should arrive near Nov. end to December middle heheeh
Tomorrow hoping to grab some cheap boxed seasons of Family Guy and a few others hehehe.
My mom woke me up early to ask if I wanted to go look for a ball gown with her, since she’s been wearing the same one for three years straight I agreed to go if she would take me to shop at a little area downtown with cute little shops that I like to go to. So we went there first, and then to the mall to continue dress shopping. It took us all day for her to find the perfect dress, but it was still a lot of fun overall Oh yeah… while I was there, I bought a cow callendar for my friend, a shirt from Macy’s for myself, and a Ratatouille ornament that I was finally able to find at Hallmark.
well since my boss was nice and let me have Friday off (it was only because I’m never available on friday anyway) I was out of town. I still went to the local mall though. I was down near Wheeling West Virginia and went to the Ohio Valley mall there. I never have gotten up early or camped out just to shop. i value my sleep too much. But it was very crowded. I tried to look for something at their Bath & Body Works that mine didnt have but they didnt have it either. Plus the line was all the way to the door.
My two friends went shopping on black friday. They both separated and got lost in a sea of shoppers. I have another friend who worked at a shoe store, and she told me she never worked so hard in her life.
By the way PV, I’m pretty sure I know which giant Emile plushie you’re talking about. I was thinking about buying it, but the only ones left were dirty from being on display at the back of the store where the giant screen is
Black Friday was…black as midnight. If I have to relive that day again it will be too soon, although…I have to admit that the experience was kinda fun.
Dash - Your Disney Store only gave an additional 20% off? The Disney Store I work at was selling some merchandise for 50% off! Our store must have been more desperate. (snigger)
