Bo-Peep...

I’m very upset about what I’m hearing. I have been reading through a Pixar wiki and other materials and it seems as though th [spoil]only appearence Bo-Peep and RC make in TS3 are during the home video montage. The Pixar wiki reports that Woody mentions that Bo-Peep and the others were sold in Garage sales.[/spoil]

Does anyone else see a major problem with this?

[spoil]First of all, how did that happen? When Wheezy, a dusty and forgotten toy, gets put up for sale, Woody goes through a tremendous effort to save him. How was Woody not able to save his primary love interest?

Secondly, doesn’t casually having half of the toys dissapear due to garage sales undermine the main premise of the movie?[/spoil] If Woody and the gang can so easily forget about some of the major toys from the first two movies (one of them being Woody’s girlfriend) why all the fuss about staying together in the third one.

This just seems inconsistent and unlike pixar. Very dissapointed…

Thoughts?

EDIT- Please don’t reveal potential spoilers without spoiler tags. Thanks! I’ve also edited your spoiler-ish title.

Well, if that’s really the explanation for what happened to some of the other toys (and admittedly, I don’t know if is) it could tie into the narrative. [spoil]Losing several close friends, including Woody’s love interest, would provide a fair amount of incentive to stick together, and not get split up even further. The “core group” from Toy Story 2 is still in tact, and I imagine that the losing of the other toys would bond them together even further.[/spoil]

But I haven’t seen the film yet, nor have I read the novel or comic, so I don’t really know for sure. It just seems logical to me.

EDIT: Added some spoiler tags, just in case.

Don’t forget that it is a Wiki site and you and put anything on those so it might not be true.

Do you know your title is a spoiler?
Thanks a lot!

No toy gets left behind. Or at least I hope.

[spoiler]Yeah, like you said, the toys try so hard to keep each other safe, and this theory is a major throw-off, maybe even a plothole. I mean, Andy cares about his toys, so I don’t even know how this could happen.

We don’t see most in the toy chest, and the army guys are assumingly gone.[/spoiler]

I hope Pixar brings a satisfying ending, because this is gonna bug me. Pixar went to lengths to include even the background guys, like Robot and Snake, so they’ve gotta have a plan…

I was sad to learn that [spoil]Bo Peep wasn’t really in this film. I was looking forward to more appearances by her.[/spoil]

[spoil]I was suspecting this would happen, because Bo did not appear in the characters’ section on the official website. [/spoil]

[spoil]I’ve also heard this. It’s sad, given that Bo Peep was such a sweet and compassionate character, who had faith in Woody even when the others were baying for his blood - or whatever the wooden equivalent to blood would be.
If this is true, then I wonder what their motivation was for writing her out like that - was Annie Potts reluctant to return to voice her, or did they just not feel that she’d fit into this particular storyline? I’m guessing probably not the former, since they had no qualms with finding Slink a replacement VA.[/spoil]

I think it’s because [spoil]she didn’t fit into the storyline. I mean can you imagine Bo getting played with by those toddlers? Poor girl would be destroyed in an instant.[/spoil]

I´ve a felling that Bo will apear at the end of the film…

It is sad to here this. Mabey Woody coulden’t [spoil]save her cause Andy, his mom, and Molly would get suspisises with her and other toys coming back.[/spoil]

[spoiler]In the end of the film, Andy gives his toys to Bonnie- the toys he gives (as per the novelization are)- Buzz, Jessie, Potato Heads, Rex, and finally Woody.

Bo, if anything, might be in Molly’s room, or given away or broken by her (or Andy) by accident).

Personally., I’m really miffed and pissed that Bo’s not there, except for the home movie scenes. Truthfully, its normal, I mean kids give away stuff and Molly is seen giving away Barbie and Mrs Potato Head (in the Sunnyside box). [/spoiler]

I’ll miss Bo. -Omar

[spoil]I see your point. Bo was never really a “toy” in the way the others were, she was more of an ornament. Still, it’s sad that she’s not going to be in it at all, other than a very brief flashback. I’m sure the film itself will still be awesome, but I’ll miss her.[/spoil]

Wow, no Bo-Peep? I’m saddened. :frowning:

[spoil]I think the reason Woody wouldn’t have saved Bo-Peep(if this is true) was that he didn’t want to get stolen again.[/spoil]

BUt still…That’s sad. But I agree with Livyrosebud. [spoil]Bo-Peep really wouldn’t fit into the storyline. She is made of glass, if I’m correct. She’d be broken before you could say “Toy Story 3.” :frowning: [/spoil]

A bit OT, perhaps, but this has got me thinking:

[spoil]What’s Hamm made of? I always assumed that he was a ceramic piggy bank, in which case he probably wouldn’t last long at Sunnyside either, but maybe he’s made of plastic.[/spoil]

According to the official movie guide, he is made of a durable plastic

Oh, okay, that answers that question. Thank you, oreo-94. :

This is distressing to me. It probably tears Woody’s heart apart that he [spoil]couldn’t save Bo Peep.[/spoil]

That’s what I get for looking at spoilers.

[spoil]I guess I would’ve liked more than Woody’s one line about it in passing. But then, I can’t expect a diatribe about it. [/spoil]That’s what fanfics are for! LOL! -Omar

Well yah guess they figured she’d break easy.
