Books

I’m very excited about The Casual Vacancy, JK Rowling’s new book, which comes out tomorrow.

I’m also planning to read the third in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Those books are great.

I am currently reading Goosebumps books.

I’ve just started reading Nectar in a Sieve :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m reading Castaways of the Flying Dutchman by Brian Jacques

It’s been a pretty exciting last few weeks for me in the world of books! First off, I got a free download of the first book in Jerry Jenkins’ and Chris Fabry’s Series The Wormling, and I am hooked now. Great writing and a great story and well… I just love it and can’t wait to read the next three books! I also recently bought a handful of books for an upcoming trip I’ll be taking; two of Bill Myers’ hilarious series The Incredible Worlds of Wally McDoogle and the first of his newest series TJ and The Time-Stumblers. I’ve been reading the Wally McDoogle ones for almost ten years now and they make me laugh so hard… and I look forward to starting the new series of Mr. Myers’, because after reading a page and a quarter of the prologue, I started cracking up! And today, I received the DK Pixar Character Encyclopedia! It’s so much fun to read! While you won’t learn anything too shocking or unusual about each film’s charries, the descriptions are clever, interesting, and you just might discover a little something you didn’t know! And it’s recent enough to have caught up with Brave. So yah, I luvz reading! I highly highly recommend them!

I just started reading Awakening the Buddha Within.

Reading Silas Marner for school. I should be finished by now, but the language is so dense, it’s slowing me down. :open_mouth:

My goal is to read The Hobbit before the movie comes out. My mom wants to see it and I’m afraid that I won’t get it if I see it with her.

^I want to read it too!

I’ll re-read it (along with other Middle Earth books) before the release of the third film, but not now.

I sadly haven’t read a Tolkein book!

Right now I’m reading what my dad gave me for Christmas last year. “Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy”

It’s basically the transcripts of her interview with Schlesinger after her husbands death, it came with the CDs too!

I’m currently reading Lost In The Woods: Syd Barrett & The Pink Floyd.

^Nice! Is it good?

I admittedly haven’t either! :frowning:

I suppose that we’ll have to change that!

It’s enjoyable so far, although A Very Irregular Head is superior.

I just finished reading the Jacqueline Kennedy interviews. Very informative. She’s my favorite First Lady.

Next I’m going to read The Wind in the Willows.

Read the first few pages of The Hobbit, but been caught up recently, so I might have to return it to the library before I continue. It’s all borrowed out in libraries everywhere in Singapore, no doubt the ‘kiasus’ (including me to an extent) wanna read it before seeing the movie (although I’ve seen the movie already).

In the meanwhile, just read the first story of Blacksad (in which he solves the murder of a celebrity and former flame). If you’re a fan of anthro-art (I’m not, but I can appreciate the style), Disney movies, or detective film-noir, I highly, highly, highly (that’s three "highly"s) recommend this graphic novel. Watch out for violence and coarse language, but hot d*mn, this is storytelling at its best.

Reading both Moominland Midwinter and the first volume of Black Jack. Black Jack is awesome, people! 8D

I haven’t heard of either of those!
