Brad Bird

You’re not making any of us feel better, Dash . . . .

Brad Bird is my idol.

I am terribly sorry if it seems like I’m bragging, but

LOOK!

He

drew that for me. I didn’t get to personally meet him. My dad’s coworker got a chance to meet him and knew that

I was such a big The Incredibles fan. I love Brad Bird!!!

You too, eh? Well, I’ll see you there!

Oh man that was awesome!

Wow, TI,

that E drawing is incredible!

Maybe pretty soon I should post a photo of MY prized possession.

My uncle, who works at Pixar, actually knows him and had a real conversation together. So in a sense, I have

a connection with Brad Bird.

Haha – that’s an awesome drawing he did! Edna

rocks!
Aww I don’t mean to make you guys envious … if he actually remembered me - then I’d say it’d be

pretty fair to be envious. XD

I just came back from San Francisco where I was looking at art colleges –

while seeing a Jessie Street (and Jessie Square Garage! hoorah!) – I also of course visited Pixar (which was

about a mile away from my dad’s hotel) … well … the outside of Pixar anyways. Where I sighed and almost cried

as my dad had to drag me away …

… I swore I saw the director of Finding Nemo leaving … I swear it

looked just like him!!
And some people leaving waved at us too – that was funny …
But anyways … before

I was dragged away we took a picture …

If you can’t see

me … I’m leaning against the middle brick wall with my arms in the air (as my dad put it … going "THIS

IS MINE!" … heh heh).

Anyways – I truly hope to see every last one of you over at Pixar!

There’s no need for them to stop this hit movie making record of theirs any time soon - eh?

Brad Bird is great. Anyone remember

Batteries not Included? Good times.

I like his style because he doesn’t

fudge the issue. His Incredibles commentary makes me respect him for two primary reasons:

  1. His criticism

of Childrens Entertainment avoiding mentioning or refering to death. (Saturday action cartoons where nobody ever

got hurt.)

  1. His affirmation that animation is a medium, NOT a genre.

What’s not to like?
