I got this from wikipedia, so I highly doubt it’s anywhere near true. But I have never heard of it. So I decided to ask if anyone else has.
This is a fairly sizable rumor, but Luckey retired from Pixar recently, so he can’t be working on anything.
A western Pixar film would sound really cool.
I guess nothing’s for sure yet, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
In the mean time… we’ve still got Up, Toy Story 3, Newt, The Bear and the Bow, and Cars 2 to worry about.
I don’t know about this. If it were to be released in '13, I think we would have heard about it. Also, isn’t Lasseter a little busy to be co-directing? If he can’t take time out to direct Toy Story 3, then why this movie?
Where did you hear this from?
It’s from this interview with the author of the Art of Pixar Short Films.

Q: I know about Alvy Ray Smith; what about Bud Luckey? Did he retire? Boundin’ is one of my favorite shorts.
A: Bud is retired now from Pixar. He drove into the studio for an interview. From the moment he walked in, he was mobbed by former co-workers asking what he’d been up to and how he was doing. I definitely saw first-hand the affection and admiration that everybody at the company still has for Bud.
I don’t think Bud Luckey directed a feature film, but he directed and basically helped put together the Pixar short Boundin’.
(Moving it to proper location)
I can’t believe Luckey is retired. I liked that guy. If he really did come up with a concept for a feature, it is still possible that someone else might direct the film.

I know that it’s for a (rumored) future release.
