BuyNLarge Website In-Jokes

Just a bit of funny trivia…

I was checking out the “BuyNLarge” website (funny promotional website for Wall-E that parodies a large corporation – www.buynlarge.com) and reading through it for some good laughs. I clicked on the “Leave Your News To Us” link, and then on the news page, there was an “advertisement” for a “new movie” coming out – “Annual Report 2”. I clicked on it to see the fake credits listed for it… and chuckled when I saw “Music by: Brad Lewis.”

For those who don’t know, Brad Lewis is actually a (real) producer at Pixar – and an amateur trombone player (he brought his trombone to one of the Ratatouille scoring sessions to play on a short cue for the movie). Hah!

I was going to post this in the “Composer Speculation” area, but figured there are probably other in-jokes on the website, so decided to make the topic here in case others spot some…

Ha! Yeah, I spotted the “Brad Lewis” joke, as well. They inserted a bunch of other Pixar employee names in there too, I think. I was crackin’ up… (snigger)

ya, i thought the concept of buynlarge.com was so unique–i played around that website for so long–if only i could really buy my very own wall-e!

The the footer is funny too:

Obvoulsy a reference to Discovery Channel’s 3 part series: 2057. That aired eariler this year.

More jokes I found: Look on the scanning news bar on top: They mentioned Chick Hicks’s sponsor, htB (Hostile Takeover Bank). They also mention Sid’s rocket, “The Big One”. And you’ve GOT to check out those disclaimers! XDDD

Oh, and don’t forget to read the Buy n Large Legal T-Shirt! XDDD I want one of those!

Yeah I went looking around that site a couple times. Not as long as I’ve wanted, but I’ve spotted things too. They’re mainly what everyone else has said. Somebody mentions seeing something, and then I try to find it too.

I was looking at the website and I found this article in the BnL World News section under “Entertainment”.

It says that “Pix-vue Animation Studio” is doing a 4-D film called Mobius the Loopy . It is expected to take 40 years to complete. :laughing:

The website looks really convincing!
