Buzz Lightyear Toys

I was just wondering if any of you have know of or have a list of all the Buzz Lightyear toys that have been made… I’m pretty much just thinking about the 12 inch size and not the smaller variety. I’ve ran across several so far but just wondered if anyone knew exactly how many there have been. I have two versions - the TSC Buzz (the original without the utility belt) and the Disney Advanced one from TS3.

Seemingly too many to count. Just to give you an idea, see this video.

Someone here is making a Wiki about it, so I figure with some categories, we could get an accurate number. I have a lot of time, so I might try to aid in this process.

I checked out the vid! Now that’s a collection! I forgot there were so many alternate Buzz’s!!! I really wasn’t thinking about those when I thought about there being a list… manily just the ones that are deisgned to replicate the film… but man, it’d be interesting to see how many there were with those included!

Does anyone know what the buzz is at 3:47 of that video. The one w/ the certificate of authenticity??

I can only assume it’s the original 1995 one. the TSC Buzz was not out at the time that video was made. Nor was the new Disney store exclusive buzz.

I think Kyle is right, I’ve never heard any other Buzzes that would have certificates besides TSC and original Thinkway.

ahh…I didn’t know the original one had a COA. I never had many toys form the first 2 movies.

They probably didn’t but they might have considering they were modeled with Pixar’s digital data also.

It’s the Infinity Edition. It was a special edition figure made as part of the original line. Building off the original sculpt, new sounds and features were added, such as the wrist communicator and disc launcher from the Interstellar Buzz.

So they didn’t add the communicator until after the initial wave of Buzzes? I didn’t realize that. I take it that’s the one I had as a kid then, not the first one without the communicator. I don’t recall having the disk launcher though, not until I got the chrome Buzz.

I like all the chrome, clear, and different colored buzzs, but I think I am a little to late to the game to get those. Prices on ebay are crazy. I really like the holiday hero buzz, ah well I will live

They all have their pros and cons, but I do agree that the Holiday Hero one is interesting. The face is surprisingly detailed, too. And of course, I love his extra phrases (him and the corresponding Woody are out this time of year).

Yeah, the Interstellar (chome) one was the first to include the communicator. Now, if your Buzz has additional holes in the back, that’s where the disc launcher would’ve gone.

Well, I don’t know if this is relevant, but maybe it will help you. I have an American flag Buzz, Interstellar Buzz(gray build), regular, and one who’s chest is made of clear blue plastic.

Wow, this has turned out to be a pretty interesting thread!

Oh, and I’ll also mention that I ordered another Disney Store 12 inch advanced Buzz Lightyear from the Disney Store after realizing that the one I had (which I ordered from a seller on ebay) was defective. The karate chop action would not work and nothing I did (short of dismantling him completely to try to figure out why) would fix it. Turns out there are some other subtle differences, too. If anyone’s mega-interested, I’ll post a comparison.

I have never seen the american flag buzz or the holiday hero buzz in person, but those two would be on the top of my list if I was collecting the older buzz lightyears.

Ah. Sadly, my grandmother gets all my weird Buzz figures(I guess I’m officially collecting them now) at yard sales and thrift stores. And obviously they used to belong to careless little kids. Tey work, but every Buzz I get has green and other colors smeared all over his body(on the white part)!!! I guess it’s paint, since it has no texture. Does anyone know how to get it off  Thanks.

IV I would suggest scratching it off or maybe washing it off with soap and warm water hope this helps

Well, nail polish remover or acetone(which is in nail polish remover) will likely remove it. But you must be careful, dont let it soak the plastic or it will damage it, also, it can take off any paint so if the colors are atop of paint, i wouldnt suggest this method.

Rubbing alcohol should work better.
