Buzz's Helmet

Has anyone ever noticed that when a Buzz figure is made, they never make it so you can press the buttons on the side of the helmet to make it open in close like in the movies. It is always that the helmet is half-open and you have to press it down for it to close. Don’t you think, especially for the TSC Buzz they should have made the helmet more authentic?

While that would be awesome, I’m pretty sure it’s near impossible and/or too expensive to implement in a mass market toy.

I’m not quite sure if it’s possible to do that with a real Buzz toy, heck, they’ve always have trouble with Buzz’s wings, too

I would be possible to have buttons open it, though I’m not sure about closing. probably, but as mentioned too expensive.

and I know for a fact it would be impossible to fit the helmet all the way back into his body. Ive opened the 90s buzz up, there’s simply no room for the whole thing. this was a cheat they got away with in the movie.

well in the movies the helmet even has a tab to open and close it manualy…it can be hard to see but its…and on the subject of it being possible, i think it could work, but don’t expect karate chop action with wings that open on the same figure

That was a thing that always bothered me as a kid, but I understood soon it was impossible. And they’d have to sacrifice other features like wings that pop out via the button on the chest. I’ve always thought they could make it where you could TURN the purple things which would be attached to the helmet, to push the half front back. Or make it to where the helmet just comes flat off, with a head that turns left and right AND up and down! Like make a buzz with all features TSC version didn’t have. Karate chop action, removable helmet, arms that can reach across and touch his chest buttons, while retaining glow-in the dark features, and possilby voice simulator if possible.

most of those last things you mentioned are impossible too. it would be hard to make his head move up and down without changing the shape of his neck. they would have to make his head a very soft rubber, and that might cause some odd distortion. He can never reach his lazer because any time he does in the movie his arm intersects with his chest to do so. even this figure does it.

I know its hard to tell from this angle though.

The current buzz already has a “voice simulator”, its just a glorified term for its talking functions.

personally i think the arm reaching his other problem can fixed if they change the sholder sockets to the same material theyuse for the waist…just my opinion

I thought about that, but while that would give him more articulation, it still wouldnt quite let him reach his laser. see how his shoulder is already popppingout of its socket? that combined with the intersection I mentioned its clear they couldn’t do it without going pretty off model.

thats a good point i see what u mean

I thought the exact same thing about the shoulder sockets. While the laser may be impossible, he could hit his chest buttons better! And when I said the voice simulator, I meant they could throw that in as an extra if it was STILL possible, I know it’s on the TSC Buzz and I know it’s his voice. I’ve seen the Buzz commercial lol

I was always disappointed that it wasn’t a FLYING TOY, and for gosh sakes, it’s not a laser, just a little blinky light!!! (j/k)

hmmmmm…laser envy

Lol, couldn’t of said it better my self.
