Anybody else here love the great outdoors? ![]()
It depends on who I’m with. Family? Nah…Friends? Of
course!
I love camping. It is nice when you have it all to yourself with nothing around you but the
wilderness.
I camped a lot
as a child with my parents in the states… Colorado, North and South Carolina, Florida… much more. It was lots
of fun! We would take our kayak along. I hated the mosquitos, though. ![]()
This weekend, I’m going camping
with three of my friends. Haha… I haven’t gone camping in years, so I’m excited!
Only
thing I don’t like about camping is the bugs, I have the worse luck, chances are I’ll get biten and stung by
everything out there.
But when I went to NC two weeks ago I stayed in a cabin in the mountains, does that
count as the great outdoors?
Ever since I was young, I have always wanted to spend some time out in a desolate forest somewhere – camping. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten the chance to do so…yet. ![]()
Aggie- Wow, sounds really cool! Hope you have fun! ![]()
I’ve been out ‘camping’ once, but it wasn’t really camping since we were all about 9 years old and it was on the school field. ![]()
I’ve never actually done proper camping or anything; I much prefer proper hotels.

Camping has its downsides (no air conditioning, bugs, possible rain and muckiness, nasty washrooms, etc.) but it definitely is a wonderful breakaway from technology and the fast world. Just all those trees and green around you… or when you’re in a boat on the lake… it sure is a peaceful way to take a vacation. ![]()
And it’s the best time to roast marshmellows!! Mmmmmmm!
I think my favorite canmping place I have ever gon to was yosemitie Valley with ym school. That was not only fun, but I learned a lot from it.
I have never been camping before. I think it would be a good experience. I would certainly enjoy it, but there are a lot of negatives, bugs, nature, etc. The fact that I have allergies would make it even more unpleasent. But if I get the chance to actually go one of these days, I would do it. ![]()
Bill - Heh. I hear ya’ on the allergies thing. Add the mosquitoes to the mix and it gets really annoying. However, there are always the positive sides to it. Fresh air! You don’t get that in the city… (heheh)

Well, from about seven to 13 years old, I was in the Girl Guides. So we went camping about twice a year, and we also went camping for school trips. I like the general idea of camping, and doing outdoor things, and you just can’t beat that fresh, foresty air. ![]()
And I must say that you don’t realise how comfy your bed is, or how hot your shower is, after a few days of camping. ![]()
