I admit I actually read a few explicit Cars fanfics out of curiousity, and there are some mighty strange ways some authors describe cars doing the nasty. I have nothing against furries, or wheelie-watchers (I just learnt a new fandom tribe today), but I… uh… do find their beliefs and practices intriguing.
And yes, I think most of us love characters in the sense that we empathise and develop an affinity with them, based on mutual characteristics and possibly physical appearances. A few even develop character crushes, while others don’t. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
