Cars 2 Reviews

that preview screening was made months ago, nobody knows how the final product is yet??

Ah, you know what I mean. “Will have been fixed in the period between the test screenings and final product.”

Weird, I didn’t hear a single thing about it…but you’re right. :open_mouth: What on earth? What happened to all the information? Why does it feel like TS3 news was everywhere every day, but it’s so hard to find stuff on Cars 2…

Considering I like Mater, like the original, like the story and all the trailers/clips released so far, I’m 80% sure I’ll come away liking this movie, even if I won’t necessarily adore it like the other Pixar movies. I can’t see it being awful.

I agree with Leirin. I would prefer more Sally, but so far, I’m really loving this Holley Brit girl. Like, much more than Sally. Like, she could maybe be my 3rd or 4th favorite character. For this movie, not the series, she could be my favorite or 2nd favorite character! And very much like the spy theme. It reminds me of a Pixar movie I very much wish they would sequelize…ANYWAY. 8D I should avoid that topic; I might cry.

I think I’ll most likely like this better than the original. It can’t become my favorite. Or, if it did, that would be odd. 8D o_0

Point blank, I am excited and very optimistic and happy for this movie.

I’m quite sure that by this week, we will be seeing and reading the first reviews, preview screenings are happening since today, I guess, and don’t forget that the premiere will be this Saturday June 18, my God everything is so close !!!

Who cares what the kids think?

Pixar is above making movies “for kids.” By their own admission, both Bird and Lasseter have talked in-depth about how animation isn’t a genre and how it used to not be ‘for kids’ and shouldn’t be deemed as such.

If this is a ‘kids’ movie, then it will be at best slightly above average, and even then, there won’t be any reason to re-visit it. I’m pulling for it to surprise me, but I don’t watch movies wondering what kids think of it; I couldn’t care less.

I wouldn’t say that Cars is a kids movie. More of a Family Movie.

I can tell everyone that the soundtrack is absolutely amazing. Does that make any of y’all feel better? Got the CD yesterday.

agree, it sounds fantastic, I’ve been listening to it the whole day, can’t wait to buy it too, so far my favorite is [spoil]Mater warns Mcqueen[/spoil]

You can’t deny that this movie is obviously geared towards the kids more than family as a group like the other Pixar movie. However, with Cars 2 it looks like they’re finally making it a lot more appealing to older kids and adults.

They’re definitely catering well to the spy/high tech thriller/espionage audience like me! :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyone remember how many reviews it takes for RT to clock in a percentage score?

You always have some of the best sigs on this site. I always have to stop and stare at them for a bit whenever I read one of your post. Where is that picture from?

As of this post, there are five reviews. Four fresh and one rotten with an 80 percent.

I checked IMDb, and it has a 7.0/10 user rating out of 338 votes and 2 user reviews. Thoughts?

Some critic on Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a bad review for the sake of giving it a bad review. I’m not sure he even saw the movie, judging from what he said about it.

Why thank you! It’s Lucas and Ness as they appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but they originate from the MOTHER/EarthBound games.

I really hope we’ll end up somewhere in the 80% range. I’ll be satisfied even if it stays there.

Yeah I saw that, he’s a loser.

I’m so happy to see it at 89%! We’re starting off amazing! The Little Mermaid has a 90% on RT and it’s one of my favorite movies of all time, so I’d say this is very much a success, at least so far.

I’m excited to see what happens, I’m sure it’ll be great!

89% is awesome, it’s certainly a better start than the first Cars! And the first one was amazing, so that’s an even better sign. And if you only look at the “Top Critics” tab (doesn’t include idiots like Armond) it’s at 100!

To be honest, I don’t find the Tomatometer to be of much use. I’d rather listen to the full reviews of critics that I know are intelligent and have good taste.

Agh, and it’s dropped to 71% :frowning: Oh well. 4 rotten reviews against 10…
