Cars 2 War Room???

The other day, I had some time to kill, I was ment to go see a surprise movie ( which me and my best friend try to do nearly once or two times a month). Anyway their was nothing to do so I just looked on pixar planet for new posts and I decided to look up Toy Story 3 on YouTube. I saw a video which explains how they create a toy ( for toy story 3 ) and on the right their was a door that said ‘Cars 2 War Room’. I don’t know what ‘War Room’ means, so I decided to post this on pixar planet. To my guess, the ‘War Room’ might be where they discus about the new Cars 2 toys or maybe it’s where they draw art for the movie, who really knows!.
What do you thing ‘War Room’ means for Cars 2?

This reminds me of a really funny line from Dr Strangelove for some reason…

Hm… speculations, speculations. Maybe there’ll be a war-themed storyline for Cars 2? A little improbable, but we do know there’s a [spoil]secret agent-car[/spoil] as one of the characters, so maybe there’ll be an [spoil]international espionage[/spoil] theme going on?

It must be a funny name for a production office. Pixar always does things like those.

I agree, thedriveintheatre, it’s most likely to be a nod to Dr. Strangelove.

Then again, it could be just the dailies screening room, and they just change the title for every film currently in production…

Guys, this was at Mattel. I think they were making up new playsets and stuff for Cars 2 in there. Also, why isn’t this in the Cars section?

It’s a Mattel thing? I haven’t seen that video. OP, can you post it?

Did any of you guys watch those really old Podcasts back before the first Cars came out? :stuck_out_tongue: This was mentioned in one of them, and I’m surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet!

The ‘War Room’ is where they sit and discuss different things about the film currently in the works (in Darla Anderson’s words, “We take our animation very seriously. It’s a war, and we’re on the front lines!”), everything from technical aspects of the film to the marketing. Basically a meeting room, where the producer usually sits down with a bunch of other people and talks over those kind of things with them, making decisions about different things and such, and oftentimes they’ll even pull in the director for big, serious decision making.

So yeah. Basically, that’s what the War Room is. :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought I heard about the reason behind the ‘War Room’ before, but it didn’t come to mind… thanks for enlightening us, little_chef.

I had almost entirely forgotten about it until I saw this topic show up in the most recent posts filter. The War Room thing made me think twice, then I remembered the podcast and gave it a quick watch through again to see if I was right. So yeah, no problem, guys!
