Yeah, and, judging from the previous audio commentaries, they actually seemed to enjoy themselves whilst
doing it! I can’t find a reason for them not to have one.

LG: I know it sounded like they were haveing loads of fun. I guess
there just waiting till the 2-disc DVD comes out to put audio commentary on. I’m
really disappointed. ![]()
At the same time, we really are buying the DVD for the film itself. The extras are just that-
extras. As long as we can get the film, well, that’s what matters. It’s unfortunate if Pixar aren’t including
things like audio commentaries this time, but hopefully they will for Ratatouille. At the end of the day, it’s
the film that matters.
You are right LG, it?s the film that we want and the bonus features are there
just for us to enjoy. I?ll be watching Cars over and over again when I get the Cars DVD in 12 days. ![]()

I wish I could be excited
as you guys. I really want to like Cars, and I really
want to be excited about it coming out… But I’m not. Hmm. Well, maybe if I see
the film a few more times! ![]()
lizardgirl: So I’m not the only one who’s not as
excited as everyone else! That’s a relief. ![]()
Although there is – apparently – no audio commentary
included, and even though the film itself is only a(n) one-disc set, I still highly anticipate the release of
Cars on dvd. I’m not as obsessed with this film as I was with Finding
Nemo when it came out, but I still can’t wait for it all the same. Like lizardgirl said, it’s
the movie itself that matters. ![]()
The main reason I’m buying the film – besides the fact that I want to
watch it billions of times, of course – is because the Ratatouille teaser trailer
is on it. Now I’ll finally be able to watch it on the big screen! ![]()
On the whole, the single disc just seems ‘light’.
ie, not really anything in it. ![]()
luxo: True…true. It’s
enough to keep up going, though. We’ll have the Ratatouille trailer to watch over
and over again, the two shorts attached to the dvd (Mater and the Ghostlight and
One Man Band), and a few…“other”…bonus features along the way.
We’ll be bored soon, yes, but will we care? I say “no” to that! ![]()
But my opinion is that the extras on the DVD’s are the only way to get INTO Pixar, to
see how they did it, who did it, what sort of problems did they have, what was special on making this
movie…
That are things that interest me, personally.
Groaning: So am I, Groaning.
One of my favorite things about purchasing a DVD is to view the special features that come with it. But hey –
what can you do? ![]()
Sell the one-disc on eBay when the 2-disc comes out… or just rent the one-disc until
either the two-disc comes out, or the manager of the video store decides to just give it to you (kind of like
Belle got that one book in Beauty and the Beast)…
I’m feeling kind of quixotic; you might not be able
to take anything I say tonight seriously… ![]()
KyrieEleison: You know what? That’s not such a bad idea. I just might do that.
Thank goodness for good ol’ E-bay. And thank you for the tip!
And I looked up
quixotic in the dictionary. According to Sir Webster:
quixotic - adj. strange/impractical (person).
What an interesting way to describe yourself – I love it. Obviously, judging by the fact that I looked
it up in the dictionary, I took it seriously. You’re not strange – you’re a fan, and fans are cool. ![]()
No audio commentry !? Now that’s just wrong .
i’m still buying the dvd , since i
refuse to get it on bearshare until i buy the dvd , so then I don’t feel like i’m ripping off pixar .
Mitch: When I was writing that, I checked the thesaurus to confirm that “quixotic” was indeed the
word I was looking for, and I chose it when I saw it synonymous with “eccentric,”
“nonsensical” and “peculiar.” And it’s more the way I’m feeling tonight… just a little
restless…
I know it is. ![]()

Of course I?m going to by the DVD the second it comes out.

KyrieEleison: I see. Well, I
guess that puts us in the same boat, then. I’m not feeling at all myself tonight. ![]()
It’ll
pass…
JV: Yeah, we’re all suckers for anything Pixar. I signed the
Cars DVD petition, but I’m still gonna buy it anyway. ![]()
Guys

And I guess especially with Pixar, which has a pretty unique process of making
films, the extras can be very interesting, but as I’ve said before- as long as the film itself is coming out,
and we are all able to watch it at home as many times as we want, then the extras really are just extras, IMO.
They can enhance the experience, but I don’t really think that it’s such a terrible thing that sometimes, the
extras are a little limited. It’s a shame, but we’ll still be able to watch the film itself, and that’s the
most important thing.
