Thanks to

Cars DVD, inserts, pictures of the menus, the trailer for Disney and Pixar films
coming to Blu-Ray, and more! It’s all very cool.

Um…woah. Those are…pretty neat.

However, I continue to wonder if it was legal for the poster of that article to scan and paste those
pictures. I’m not saying that it was wrong essentially, but now the whole dvd is ruined for me. I won’t be
surprised anymore. Then again, it was I who clicked the link in the first place; I who can’t bear to hear about
a spoiler and not know exactly what it is; I who…well…who ruined it for myself. ![]()
Overall, though,
they are very cool images to look at. It looks like the DVD will make it to the top of the box office in the
second week of November.
I
just ruined it for my self too Mitch, I couldn?t wait any longer even tough its only 16 days
away.
Heheh – we can’t blame
ourselves for being curious, though, now can we? ![]()
Little bit of criticism, the main menu looks sort of
tacky, like the ones you make on your computer for DVD’s.
May look better in real life though. ![]()
And good, Disney chose Blu Ray. ![]()
HOLD UP ! what is
blu-ray and what can it be used on ?
Blu-Ray is basically the next generation of DVD’s.
It’s gonna compete with High Definition DVD’s to be
the standard for film storage, rather like VHS and Beta in the 1980’s. A stand alone Blu-Ray player costs $1000,
but the PlayStation 3 (At $600) can play them.
I’d wait until the DVD wars have subsided before
committing to one or the other format.
I agree with you, luxo, about the main menu. It is a bit
tacky. But at the same time, it sort of suits the genre and feel of the film, (not that I’m saying the film is
tacky, of course!
) The rest of it looks pretty good, especially the Sneak Peek menu.
The sneak peek menu is very
nice.
That would have been great as the main one with mater and lightnin sitting there watching
it.
And has anyone else noticed just how realistic lightnin looks in the main menu.
.
Some
parts of him look like a photograph of a toy car. Can’t put my finger on it.
I know
what you mean…But yeah, he doesn’t actually look like a real car- more of a toy car. Well, Pixar are very
clever with this type of thing, as we all know, so they’ve probably used some kind of special effects to make
him look like that.
I just thought it was simply
amazing how real it looked, Toy Car or not.
And I remember the fast paced race scenes just looked really
unreal. I couldn’t belive what I was watching.

I know it was just unbelievable, just great animation!

Pixar really have developed from
their Toy Story days, haven’t they? ![]()
Indeed, they have. And they’ll go
even further! As the years have progressed, Pixar’s work has gotten more detailed, “smoother”, and
generally more enjoyable (although, I think that that’s an understatement
). Just look at the
Ratatouille trailer! Heck, I almost thought that that first shot of Paris was
real…
Yeah I held the same thought.
I am really not liking this DVD at all.
bawpcwpn: really how come?. Does it have Audio commentary?
im okay with it , i just want to watch the movie again and
again and again and again and… well , you get the picture .
and let’s not forget about mater and
the ghostlight and the deleted scenes . i love those .
Well
here are some of my gripes but also some of my positives about the
DVD
Gripes
commentary apparently
4. The main menu thingy looks pretty average
5. Disney want me to double dip
6.
Nots lots of the many features they could have had if it were a 2 disc
7. (Can’t be helped now that Disney
own Pixar but they shouldnt do it altogether) Plugging Disney’s other films with sneak peaks on the
disc.
Positives
menus look great
3. Get to watch Mater and the Ghostlight
4. Get to see One Man Band again
So
there you have it. Why I like and dislike this dvd.
Thanks for sharing bawpcwpn. I can’t believe the DVD has No audio commentary,
because I was really looking forward to listening the John and the gang.
