How do Cars in the cars world fuel up?
When McQueen goes to Fillmore, he drinks fuel, but at the PIston cup, we see that all the cars are filled up by getting the gas poured into a tank in their back. So how do they fuel up? or is this just a plot inconsistency?

These are theories of mine, and probably make no sense! But I’ll just put my weird thoughts in.

Perhaps you can do either. For race cars they might want to have their fuel injected by their pit stop members, it’d be quicker. And then during leisure time, race cars drink like all the other cars we’ve seen.

Maybe gas is injected in their tank, and oil is drank.

not at all, remember that after Mcqueen discovers Doc´s back story, he goes to Flo´s cafe, and after that Sally appears and give him some gas to go to wheel well, in that scene Mcqueen is filled up by gas into his back tank, not drinking it
I agree with the theory about Filmore, he produces oil, not gas, I guess
