'Cars' joke on Letterman

I saw this last night on the David Letterman show, and I thought it was funny so I thought I’d

share it.

Letterman took some people in the audience to play “Know Your Current Events.” One of

the categories was “Know Your Summer Blockbusters.” There were two questions, and the answers, of

course, were both jokes. One was about Cars. Don’t worry, this is not a

spoiler.

Question: What happens at the thrilling climax of

“Cars?”

Answer: The cars save 15% by switching to Geico.

Hahaha! Conan made a funny on Cars a while ago as well!

Why are they doing this now, almost two months after its domestic release? Not that it’s a bad thing, but I

don’t have the free time to watch those late-night shows as I used to! Argh! :stuck_out_tongue:

hehe - That’s good but it

doesn’t beat the one that Larry the Cable Guy dropped at both the premeire and then again on

Letterman…

"It’s a movie about cars that drive themselves. In fact the guys at Pixar have already

sent a couple to the Kennedys."

Needless to say that got a BIG laugh with that audience!

Yeh, I was able to watch the Larry appearances… I really liked the one when he was

with Patricia Heaton… haha! I still don’t believe her when she said she watches his show…

 Oh man, I wish I would’ve seen

that…

Aggie, what was Conan’s joke?

Conan showed a re-dubbed clip from the movie. I didn’t see it, but somebody

explained it and man, I sure hope it’s available on the internet somewhere! I’ll copy/paste what they

wrote:

"I was just watching Late Night With Conan O’Brien and he was doing a segment about summer

movies. One of the ones he talked about was Cars. He said that he thought some of the aspects of the movie were

not for children, and then he showed a clip from the movie but with the lines changed to make them funny. I

thought it was hilarious! It was when McQueen is hooked up to Bessie and Luigi and Guido show up.

Luigi:

Heard you just came into town.
McQueen: Yes, and federal law requires me to tell you that I’m a registered

sex offender.
Luigi: Stay away from my son.
Guido: Wait for me daddy!
I thought it was hilarious! And

since they had Owen Wilson on the show a few nights ago, I think that he actually did the fake McQueen

line."

Oh man, this better end up on YouTube.

DUDE. I wanna see that!

LOL! Haha!

Wow… We

will have to check YouTube for that!
Thanks for sharing, Aggie!

I forget where I saw it, if not in various mediums such as

TV and the comics, but I’ve seen some show put on a fake review of pixar/disney’s next movie “Forks”.

Another boasted that disney would be presenting Pixar’s “Shoes”.

The Forks one was on The Daily Show… I couldn’t find any video on it, but I remember it wasn’t all that

funny.

I thought it was hilarious.
