Cars questions...

In writing fanfiction, I have often wondered about some of the

following things which would impact my writing:

What exactly are the cars in Cars? Are they purely

mechanical, or some kind of biological-mechanical hybrid? I know this was discussed a little in another thread,

but there are so many questions.

It would seem that in order to reproduce, Cars would have to be made on

an assembly line (such as the “Thank the manufacturer you’re alive” comment) So two cars would have to

go to the dealership to pick out a ‘baby’ car- But there are no car ‘kids’ in the movie, anywhere. So do

they actually raise children? The thing is, the take-off of the movie Toy Story shows that cars actually do have

children who play with toys, so that makes me wonder, how? Do baby cars grow? That would seem to be impossible. I

can’t help but wonder, did anyone at Pixar actually think about this? Maybe Pixar just wanted to avoid the

whole question so…no kids in the movie. Does anyone know where baby cars come from? This also raises questions

about the necessity and mechanics of something I can’t actually refer to on this forum.

Do cars need to

breathe? We know they eat, sleep, ‘go to the bathroom’ etc…if a car ended up underwater would they drown, or

would the water just damage the engine?

Sorry, this is becoming macabre…but how could a car actually

die? We know they can, because of Mac’s comment and, well, common sense, but couldn’t you just keep fixing up a

car, adding new parts, etc? If the battery goes dead does it die? Or does it have to be completely destroyed,

i.e. broken to pieces or burned? Or do they have a brain the way people do that can die? Which is back to the

original question…if you opened a car, would you find organs or just mechanical parts?

I wish I could

ask Doc some of these questions. Though he’d probably think I’m morbid.

Those are some very good questions!

Actually

there is one baby car in the movie. At the final race among the spectators there is a small car with a jet

fighter toy - it is most likely a car child.

I think of the cars as mechanical yet maybe some sort of

mechanical-biological hybrid where the biologial part only plays a very small role. I think their eyes could be

biological to some degree. Also they have emotions and are able to feel pain, pleasure, heat and cold etc. with

their body work. I don’t think they have a brain like ours but I think they have a brain system to process their

thoughts, feelings, visiual impressions etc. and I imagine it to be kinda like a super-intelligent

computer.
Parts like their toungue and their teeth I don’t think are biological. I imagine their toungue to

be made of some sort of rubber-like material and their teeth as either made of metal or plastic.
If you open

up a car I don’t think you’ll find any organs. I think you’ll find the ordinary car parts and maybe some parts

that are unique to these cars like their brain system. I don’t know whether they have seats inside

them.
According to this I imagine that the only parts to decompose when a car dies are the internal part of

their eyes and the vital parts of their brain system.

About how a car die I’m not sure, but I think it

takes quite a lot since they can be repaired. I think it would take something like being completely destroyed and

maybe especially having the brainsystem destroyed. I don’t think they can drown as they don’t need air to live

but to function and any damages made by the water could be fixed. Also I don’t think a flat battery causes them

to die but maybe to pass out or go into a coma.

As to where car babies come from it is my conviction that

they come from the manufacturer. So when a male and a female car want a baby they get it from the factory. The

car child then either grows in a biologial way or maybe parts get replaced as the child gets older.

I’m

sure the people at Pixar have thought about these things as their movies are so consistent down to the tiniest

detail .

Well, since The Loner beat me to everything else, I’ll tell

you about my theory on… WHEN CARS GO WHEN THEY DIE! And how they die!

They way they can be killed is

just the same as a human. I believe that in car biology, the space between their windshield, side windows and

rear window is their “brain” cushioning, or their head, with the engine being their “heart”.

They can get infected by sickness like any other human, except their “organs” are mechanical, not

fleshy stuff… for instance, a car with a serious engine infection might die from it, or something. And if a car

got an arrow impaled straight through one side window and out the other (NOT likely… xD But that’s just an

example), they would be killed instantly because that’s where their brain is. Same goes for their engine.

Otherwise, they just simply die of weakened old age.

And here’s my REALLY weird theory on where cars go

when they die. After they decompose, all their separate mechanical parts, “soul” and information about

make/model of car, etc - yeah, all that stuff is transferred as spiritual information to a manufacturer in the

human world. Which manufacturer, depends on what type of car it is. The parts are assembled back together again,

just like how cars are built in the human world, and so it’s like being reincarnated except the car is not

“alive” and it’s now there for humans to drive in in the human world. If the car is destroyed then,

there’s no getting it back, because that’s the reality of it today!

-gasps for breath and flops over-

Andthat’smycrazytheoryonCars…

I knew there people here who could

answer those types of questions in detail. I think it’s mostly a matter of opinion how biological you

want these Cars to be (as opposed to more mechanical). I honestly dont think too much about it. When I’ve read

fics where a car is ‘born’ or ‘dies’ most of the time I just accept that that’s how it could happen, however

the author decided to portray that. You know, if it doesnt sound too outrageous

Candy: so is there a Car

Heaven?

BorntothePurple: There is a thread on here called Cars psycology here on PP where almost all of your questions

should be answered. Here is the link.

The car’s body is reincarnated back to the human

world, and like humans, they don’t know what happens to their soul and spirit until they die to find out.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Loner,

Actually, I think Cars do have seats…didn’t Daryl Cartrip (sp) refer to them? Something

like “it’s as hot as a seat on a summer day…?”

Which makes me wonder- if there are seats,

why? Only people need seats in cars, the cars don’t need them.

Which leads to the question- If they have

seats, did people build them originally, and then give them intelligence, and then the cars learned to mass

produce themselves? And…if so…what happened to the humans? Did they all die out, or was there some kind of

war and the cars killed them? (that kind of puts a damper on things… :frowning: Like a terminator Rise of the

Machines thing?

There may be a fanfic in there somewhere- albeit a dark one…

BorntothePurple - Yes, before the final race Darrell

Cartrip says “Tickets to this race are hotter than a black leather seat on a hot summer day”. To be

honest I have never understood why he said that since it would seem as seats are unnecessary in this world. But

maybe the cars do have seats and they just have a different function in this

world.

I don’t think humans and cars have ever co-existed in this world. I see the Cars world as a

parallel universe to our world. And I think there is a God-like creature who makes the cars and that’s why these

cars are somewhat biological and living creatures.

I also have my own theory about how

the whole Cars world began, which is kind of like Christianity, but I won’t go into that just now… unless

anyone wants to hear it…

I’d kind of

like to hear it, if nobody minds. I’m working on my own theory.

I think of the cars as biomechanical beings in an alternate universe to our own, Just throwing a little Trek in here, kinda like the android Data or the Borg, which are both a mechanical and biological hybrid. But I believe they mate and have offspring like we do.

BTW. Yeaaaahhhh, I won, baby!!! I’m the 300th member here!!!

You sure are! Welcome to Pixar Planet, DrewsterHotRod .

Thank you very much. I notice some of my deviantART and IMDb buddies are on this board as well. :sunglasses:

Hehehe! -waves- :stuck_out_tongue:

BorntothePurple - okay, I’ll (try to) keep it short. Basically the humans built the world’s very first car factory, which Cars like to call the Manufacturer. It’s like their version of God. (Remember when Mack said “thank the Manufacturer”?) Anyway, the Manufacturer had so much power and stuff that one day he thought, “I know! I’ll build my own little world! And I’ll fill it with… things…” So he did, he created the Cars world. Then he invented lots of different living things, which are known as vehicles. There were cars, trucks, buses, vans, etc, and they were all divided into sub-species, which are known as “makes” of cars: the Manufacturer made two Fords, two Chevys, two Toyotas, two Nissans, etc, etc. One was always a male, and the other a female - just like Adam and Eve, or Noah’s Ark, whichever (or both). The reason for this was so that they could begin reproducing (yes, I do believe in that stuff) and create more cars in this world. Now the Cars world is full of lots of vehicles today, including “animals” which the Manufacturer put in too (tractors and Beetles). And I’ve already explained what happens when the cars die. THE END!

Wow that’s very well thought out I never thought of where the cars actaully came from!!
