Truth to that,I especialy want to hug L&S,speaking of which I think there was more,romance…,what I mean is that you was able to understand it,I wasn’t the same with Linginette 
.And besides Collette is meaner than Sally

Yaaah… I mean, I like that Colette was a strong female character… but… she was pretty mean in the beginning… and it quickly turned me off.
I’m in no position to compare Cars and Ratatouille, but I do agree that the Cars characters did have that quality that, throughout the film, you end up caring more and more about what happens to them. And because they’re all so well-rounded as characters, with their negative qualities as well as their positive qualities, for Pixar to have still made them so lovable is a real achievement.
I must say that I am the complete opposite to you guys here. I didn’t feel for any of the Cars characters, at all. And, I’m not sure if it was the fact that Lightning and Sally were Cars, or it was just them as characters, that I was unable to accept the fact that they were Cars and “in love”. It just wasn’t convincing to me. But this was the trouble with the whole movie, IMO.
On the other hand, Colette and Linguini couldn’t feel, I mean, “be”, more real if Pixar tried. They are so much like a real couple it’s scary. But it’s so sweet…
Ok,but I think with Lingunette It wasn’t intresting,It’s like ok and It’s over with,I’m sorry but I just don’t get it.L&S Foeva! 
I think that their both cute. Most of us can relate better with L&S though, cuz they’re more the “flirty” type of couple, and that’s what most of us do, right? We FLIRT. With Linginette, it was more like, “I HATE you!” in the beginning, then at the end it was like, “I LOVE YOU! glomp”

What NikChik said. Linguini and Colette are cute and all, but Lighting/Sally are MUCH more real (cars or not). Linguette’s relationship does not have enough growth… Lightning and Sally practically have the entire movie where they go through different emotions.
Examples:
-Lightining flirting with Sally in the beginning (“you, me, dinner. ka-chow!”)
-Sally kind of playing along, although obviously not returning any feelings
-Sally showing appreciation to Lightning by letting him stay at the hotel
-Lightning saying he doesn’t like her, but Mater getting the actual truth out of him
-The quiet moment when Lightning and Sally talk and Lightning thanks her
-‘Our Town’ moment
-much more… ehehe.
Now, of course, the relationship between Lightning and Sally is very important to the story, whereas in Ratatouille, it’s more about Linguini and Remy’s passion.
I pretty much agree with the basic consensus here that the Cars characters (and the L & S relationship) were a bit more developed than in Ratatouille. I dont wanna compare Rat to Cars too much though because they’re both different in their own ways. But yeah, I cared about what happened to the cars moreso than than the rats and L & C.
EXACTLY what Aggie said. The Cars characters are more lovable cause we can RELATE to them. But, unless some of ya’ll are french and love to cook, I don’t relate to Ratatouille at all. I’m sorry. It’s an awesome movie, like all the Pixar films, but I can just relate to Cars more.

I always love a movie with a small town setting… cuz, well… I LIVE in a small town.
Getting BACK to the subject, I think all of us can relate better to flirting, denial of liking someone, and all that stuff, but the ADULT stuff, like that sudden kiss in Rat. I was like, " 
WTH???" IMO, most of us like Cars better, because we can relate to it.
I got another question. One of the morals in Cars was “Slow down and enjoy life”, right? Well, something like that… But what was the moral for Ratatouille? Anyone can cook? If you believe in something, you can achieve it? I’m not honestly sure, so can somebody please fill me in?
