Not being rude or anything but if a car is equivalent to a human & a car wash definetly represent
a shower, so if a car went through the car wash & they come out of the other end, would they get embarrassed
if being looked at? Now this question wasn’t intended to be rude it’s just a curious question…
Well, I wouldn’t think they would get embarrassed. They
have no concept of clothes or needing to ‘cover up’ anyway, so after coming out of the car wash, they would be
in the same state that they were in when they went in it, just a bit cleaner.
Well, we know car washes are the equivalent of showers/baths, due to this line: (In trailers,
so not a spoiler)
Sarge: (To Fillmore) Take a car wash, Hippy!
Since Hippies are stereotyped to
have bad hygiene, then Sarge is telling Fillmore to clean himself up, basically.

spot on: I don’t think carss upper bodies are something they blush about. However:

undercarriage may be a different story. There’s a scene where Lightning bursts into Doc’s surgery, and sees
Sheriff’s undercarriage, for he’s on a car lift being examines. Lightning jerks embarrasedly, while Sheriff
retorts “Get a good peak, City Boy?” Methinks that is the equivalent of seing someone in a backless
surgical gown.

LOL, that’s quite a nice issue raised there, at first I
was thinking you’d thought too much into it, but in the car equivalent world it is quite an issue to weather
they would go red when they got out from a car wash.
Or in Lightning’s case, reder. LOL.

and Sally went for a drive and she laughed at him for having bugs in his teeth? Lightning felt embarrassed for
the moment.

Well, I definitely figured that underneath the car would be exposing. Ok, a different
concept, what if a car goes through the car wash & comes out without any paint job?
True but his embarrassment had to do with himself
being dirty, not naked.

There are a lot of parallels between the Cars universe and
our universe, but we can’t get hung up on trying to make every analogy line up just perfectly, because it’s
just not gonna happen. Car washes would be the equivalent of baths/showers, but as
lizardgirl said, the cars don’t have any concept of clothes anyways, so there’s no
reason for them to be embarrassed afterwards.
And in response to the whole undercarriage thing, however
much I dislike saying it I actually think that there’s some inconsistency on Pixar’s part on this issue: There
is Sherriff’s “Get a good peek, city boy?” line, but then there’s also the overturned car (I want to
say LeakLess, but I can’t remember for sure) that Lightning bounces off of in the very first race, but it
doesn’t seem like there’s any problem at all with that. You could just chalk it up to McQueen being so very
focused when racing and not caring about that at the moment, but still, I just get a feeling that it’s not
“obscene” in that instance.

point, DElf. It’s a bit contradictory, isn’t it? Only a really minor detail, though. What about when the car’s
doors are open? Or if their boot is open? Would that kind of represent being ‘naked’?
This is a very
good discussion topic. First, I do think that it is like a shower. However, coming out the other end is like
drying and getting changed, so they won’t feel embarassed.
I don’t think the cars’ doors and trunks (boots 
) can open.
That’s the way I’ve always looked at it. Because that would be more like cutting a hole in your side than it
would be like being naked.

Just to add to the confusion, I’ll put in my two cent’s worth:
What about
those two times when Mater hooked up Lightning in his…umm…back side. Lightning sure jerked up/back pretty
hard when Mater did that. I guess that these incidents provide proof that (male) cars do have…tender parts.
