Talk about an underrated show that was canceled too soon! This was probably my favorite Nicktoon! of the 2000’s. The show focused on the antics of three housecats (who didn’t really look like cats, but they were cats because we’re told they are): Mr. Blik (a black cat who can only be descibed as a mix of The Brain and Plankton), Gordon (who spoke in a Scottish dialect even though he wasn’t really from Scotland), and Waffle (the lovably spastic cat who was my personal favorite). So, who else loves this show?
Oh man, I used to love this show! I even had Happy Meal toys of Gordon, Waffle and Mr. Blik (which my mom threw away/got rid of). I hope Nickelodeon gets their stuff together and brings back some of these shows. I mean, this show was awesome! It had everything: Cats, Bears, Newts (“I got my newt!”), Giant octopuses, and so much more!
Edit: 1000th Post!
Fun fact: This show was created by the same guy that made the popular 90’s video game Earthworm Jim. It’s actually based very loosely on a graphic novel he made called Gear where the three cats originated from (Mr. Blik’s original name was Mr. Black, but not surprisingly Nickelodeon wanted it changed for fear that it sounded too racist).

I remember liking the show a bit during the brief time that it was on Nick. I thought it was one of the last decent new Nicktoons to come on since Invader ZIM got canceled, though probably not up there with a lot of the older ones before Spongebob.
Waffle and his newts <3 I didn’t watch this show too too much, but I do remember pretty well. Waffle was my favorite too!
I would have assumed it was a reference to Kingston Trio’s “The Reverend Mr. Black”. But I’d probably be in the minority.
The one funny thing I always noticed about Kevin McDonald in cartoons is that his voice never seems to change no matter what character he plays (at least from the cartoons I’ve seen him in). I mean, he played an alien in both Invader ZIM and Lilo & Stitch and they both sound exactly the same.
Rob Paulsen as Gordon was always pretty funny to me cause of the Scottish accent he gave him, and Wayne Knight was good as Mr. Blik.
