Not sure if/when the embargo date is, but press screenings have already begun for the movie.
This is sort of minor news, but it appears “Brave’s” run time is 95 minutes.
new spoof ad “witch’s brew”
shows new footage of the witch.
All I know is do NOT read the Brave The Essential Guide book. Heck don’t even flip through that thing! To many spoilers! On a side note, its a nice book, lots of great still images from the movie and info on the characters. But I should have known better than to read that. Now I know how the movie ends, which is not exactly a good thing.
Here the link to the book.

Here’s an early review from a blogger who I follow on Twitter. therotoscopers.com/reviews/2 … he-he.html
Here are a few more early reviews I’ve seen:

I’m actually surprised at how positive the reception has been so far. After those early mixed reviews, I was a bit worried. Hopefully this convinces the Cars 2 haters that Pixar isn’t dead.
It looks very positive so far, so that’s great.
I skimmed them (trying to avoid spoilers) and they are so, so, complimentary. I was expecting “well, it’s better than Cars 2,” not “my favorite or second-favorite Pixar film.” This is so encouraging.
Also, here’s the podcast review we did for Brave. We spent about 35-40 minutes talking about different things about this film. It’s spoiler free, but don’t listen if you don’t want to know anything about the movie! Just warning you! ![]()

Edited above. I put the wrong link. Such a n00b.*
Four reviews are in on Rotten Tomatoes- one rotten, three fresh.
Rotten:

Fresh:

eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/brav … -wilkinson
screendaily.com/reviews/brav … 62.article
I skimmed the rotten one (tried to avoid spoilers lurking in the plot description). The writer, Todd McCarthy, says it’s not exactly a bad movie, it just doesn’t equal Pixar films of the past and feels like the writers took a “safe” route: “For all its pictorial and vocal beauty, the film’s emotional line and dramatic contrivances are both more familiar and less inventive than what’s usually delivered by the studio. Younger kids won’t mind, but many viewers accustomed to relying upon Pixar for something special will feel a sense of letdown due to the lack of adventurousness.”
He also says that “Brave might disappoint many ardent Pixar loyalists” - so maybe we’ll be disappointed but the general viewing audience won’t be?
I would just ignore that rotten review. I believe that critic can be a bit erratic at times. If I remember correctly, he wasn’t too crazy about Toy Story 3.
im sure he would have praised the film if it was made by dreamworks…seriously some of these critics need to stop comparing pixars work to their other films.
These comparisons to Dreamworks are really getting old.
Agreeing with Endrizzi.
For instance, Cars 2 is only a “bad” film when compared to Pixar’s other outstanding productions. If taken by itself, it’s actually quite enjoyable.
I’m not sure what your trying to come across with that statement.

I’m simply elaborating on Endrizzi’s comment.
Read his post, then mine, and I think all is self-explanatory.
What’s the actual confusion?
Sorry. I must of confused something that was going on Twitter.
Don’t worry.
I was fearing you were getting offended for some obscure reason ![]()
It’s alright SOA. ![]()
