He was also in a similar fashion in a concept art released a while ago. Which leads me to wonder if he’s a real bear or actually a bear shaped mystical rock, or something like that (he’s always at that Stonehenge-like circle)
Speculation, but maybe the bear might come to life? Maybe he’s a figure of belief, and that Merida has to prove her bravery or whatever to bring the bear to life? I dunno…

This has to be my favorite Pixar teaser ever! Those things behind the word “Brave” reminds me of Stonehenge. By the look of it, it appears that the bear must play an important role in this movie.
