Yeah the quality is not great at all. But the trailer still looks amazing! Though I wonder why its not being shown with the 2D version of Cars 2?
It will take a lot of brasee this movie. I still am mad that this movie was salvaged but Newt was scrapped…
What are you disliking so much about this film? I don’t think it’s to blame for the scrapping of Newt at all.
Yes, we still don’t have official word on why Newt was scrapped.
^ I thought JL said it was because it was close in storyline to Alpha and Omega (ugh) and Rio.
Yeah thats what I thought, although there could be other reasons too, like creative differences a la Brenda Chapman. I think it must be scary being a director at Pixar; you’d be terrified of getting replaced .
I don’t think I would blame one of two film projects being simultaneously developed at Pixar for why the other got canned. It had more to do with the unfortunate circumstance that one of those ideas probably wasn’t coming together as good, but mostly because of what outside studios were doing. I would have liked to have seen Newt, but at least Brave is a sign that Pixar is still going to be doing original stuff.
Yeah, JL said they cancelled it due to those simular plots and story problems. Remember, Wall-E was originally announced back in 1994 under the name “Trash Planet” but we didn’t get that until 2008. Same with Cars. It was announced back in 1996 under the name “Route 66” and we got that in 2006. So, I doubt Newt is cancelled forever. I think they’ll bring it back some how some way if they can slightly change the story.
He said the story-line was similar, but didn’t mention that n.
In fact, when the Pixar Blog posted about that, Mike clarified that a Pixar employee has said that it hadn’t anything to do with the cancellation.
Well, of course they are. Pixar can’t live off of nine franchises forever. We’d eventually be seeing Ratatouille 11: Ego’s Last Stand and Up 8: Kevin’s Brood.
I just found out that the teaser WON’T be made available online, but luckily, someone took a video of it and posted it on YouTube: [url]- YouTube
…Merida could definitely be prettier than that. She looks like Helen Parr mixed with Rapunzel, who are both physically perfect to me eyes, but Merida just looks disgusting. Not happy.
Evidently she can be prettier. Everyone can.
But I think she looks much better than both Rapunzel and Helen Parr.
Well, isn’t it good then, that not all princesses have to be pretty then? Sure, she’s not the best looking, but I think it’s quite nice that not every heroine in a Disney movie isn’t jaw-dropping beautiful. Personally, I find her fine.
Saw the teaser at Cars, and it was wonderful. Really enjoyed it, and the animation was as jaw-dropping as ever. Is it true it won’t be released online?
From the look of it, I doubt it’ll come out online anytime soon. I don’t think well see any Brave trailers until the full-length trailer comes out most likely before The Muppets in November.
Evidently she can be prettier. Everyone can.
But I think she looks much better than both Rapunzel and Helen Parr.
Wait a second, there is NO animated girl better looking than Rapunzel, except Skyla the Gym Leader from Pokemon Black/White in MIstralton Town:
Ehm… Both of them look like kids.
Remember I’m an older person, so… no
Yeah thats what I thought, although there could be other reasons too, like creative differences a la Brenda Chapman. I think it must be scary being a director at Pixar; you’d be terrified of getting replaced .
This.
Pixar is a place where most of the creative team is a group of men who all went to CalArts around the same time, formed Pixar together, and have grown up with the company. So naturally, they’re going to have visions about how they think their company’s movies should be, so they pretty much will always have final say over your film. Of course, they encourage others to come in and bring movie ideas (Ratatouille, Brave…) but at the end of the day, if you’re not making your movie how they think it should be, they’ll snatch it from you.
So far, Brad Bird has been the only outsider to not have his movies messed with, but he’s pretty much considered “one of them” by the company and everybody else. They specifically asked him to join Pixar because they knew he would make great movies.
When an outsider pitches a movie to Pixar and makes it through the entire process of directing the film, that’ll be interesting. A time when Pixar can finally consider another outsider “one of them.” Mark Andrews was an interesting choice to direct Brave because he’s Brad Bird’s “right hand man” and was a supervisor on The Incredibles. Maybe he’ll become a new regular?
Oh, my goodness. I almost cried. That looks so amazing. I’m still freaking out over the animation.
This looks a lot darker than most Pixar films, and I don’t really care much for dark movies, but I am really looking forward to this.
