This movie had absolutely nothing to do with Newt getting canned.
What tribefan said.
And so what if Merida isn’t cute?
You’re making it sound like Pixar is out to get you, releasing Brave instead of Newt (althought Brave would of been released regardless of the status of Newt) just to upset you because the one you wanted more is shelved.
Newt was cancelled because of simerlaries to Rio. I don’t think you should judge a film before you see it too.
I actually never minded spoilers.
I was just generalizing. Anyway, Newt was also canned because they were going through alot of story problems at the time. But I’m pretty sure Lasseter emplied that Rio was the main reason.
I do hate spoilers.
They betray the main purpose of watching a film for the first time.
You’re right, August 17th. Which isn’t too bad, only 3 months after the States and near my birthday
I try to keep that in mind although I do find myself very tempted to read them sometimes
Oh my goodness…
- Why should Merida look cute? That’d be very generic. Hey, and I think she looks quite cute in her own way!
- How can a film “look” DreamWorks? The slapstick yes is reminiscent but this is just a trailer, not made by Pixar. And aesthetically I think the character designs, lighting, colour schemes etc resemble WALL-E and Up more than they do Shrek or Kung Fu Panda.
- Like everybody else has pointed out, it is unfortunate Newt got scrapped but please, please try and get over it! That was 2 years ago and it was nothing to do with Brave, or Pete Docter who you really seem to dislike! I know, each to their own; maybe we’ll get to see Newt in some form in the future . Just not now.
I also hate spoilers. I remember a few members spoiled almost all of Toy Story 3. Some member posted some pictures and one was the really end. It was in spoil though.
I’ll try , but temptation may get the better of me.
i’ll never be able to understand Disney’s releasing strategy fot the UK.
I don’t think Newt will be dead in the dirt. They’ll eventually bring it back somehow if they can fix those story problems.
That would be nice^^.
It would, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up on it.
It sucks doesn’t it? I believe it has to do with school holidays, because ours are very different from the US.
Did anybody read AICN’s review of a work in progress version of the film?
Is that the one where he criticised the lengthy introduction and pacing, but said it had potential to be brilliant with a few tweaks?
The article’s taken down now. I wonder when some other reviews will start rolling in, whether reviews of the finished or unfinished version. I remember getting really excited about Up when reviewers at early screenings talked about how emotional the “Married Life” sequence was.
I do hope they sort things out.
Yeah, that would be the one. I wouldn’t really trust that review since it was only a work in progress version and not the final cut. Besides, I highly dislike that site.
I know, but it’s been noted that not a lot has changed when they saw the screenings of TS3 and Cars 2. I don’t visit the site enough to comment on it,
