My thoughts:

  1. I haven’t seen many fully rendered pieces of “concept art.” This simply looks like a still from a film.
  2. The houses are hard to make out, but they look rather simple, and furthermore googling “old Scottish houses” brings up results that resemble this picture.
  3. Brave is about to come out, so posting a teaser image makes sense to me. They just happened to be making a reference to a previous film.

It sure does! I don’t recall that speific scene being in any of the Pixar films. Perhaps a short maybe? I could be wrong since I haven’t seen all of the Pixar shorts.

When I first looked at it, I actually thought of Lifted-the scene does look a bit like an abduction-but it doesn’t match. The more I think about it and look at q_o_p’s points, maybe this is a picture of the wise old lady’s (or whatever she is called) home?

That, for the same points queen exposed, was what I thought at first.

Now I think it’s just Ratatouille concept art.

PS: One thing is for sure, this isn’t from a short film.

It has to be some concept art from Ratatouille. That house doesn’t look like the old lady’s cottage at all. Besides, what are the odds of it getting struck by lightning.

Well, I didn’t cast any spell recently, but according to films, the odds of a lightning striking during the process are quite high.

Speaking of which, i am very interested about this old lady. TV Tropes will tell me that she will be cackling and sinister and up to no good, but i wonder if Pixar will twist things.

It was just a video of concept art for Brave that was shown at the D23 Expo. I think I posted a link somewhere in this thread.
