Great commercial. I’m glad that Disney’s finally starting to wise up to Pixar’s adult appeal a bit more with Brave’s ad campaign.

Thanks for that.

My family and I fastforwared past all the commericals! But I’m glad I saw this online, it was beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Has anyone got on DA and look up Merida? She already has quite a lot of fanart.

Yep. I like some of those more than the actual design.

People have already cosplayed her, too. There’s this one in particular who turns up in Google searches often, she’s like a real-life Merida!

I’m happy to see people hyped up for this movie. Car’s 2 didn’t get this much excitement.

I think that’s a pretty awesome drawing! Reminds me of Ariel from The Little Mermaid^.

That is cool.

I just saw the trailer. I literally cheered after seeing it.

I think I might be the last one who was worrying this might not turn out as good as hoped, but now all doubts are gone. This is the must see movie of the year.

This drawing struck me as better than the actual design. The way her face is shaped just feels a little off to me in some shots.

I undsrstand where you’re coming from, either way it’s a pretty great drawing^^.

I TOTALLY went to Elementery school with Lauren. True story.

That is a beautiful drawing.

It is so nice.

She has a very high-fashion modelesque face, which is not a bad thing but may make her seem strange to others. I think the drawing makes her look too plain, but that’s not to say she doesn’t look nice or more appealing. I don’t want another Ariel! I don’t even need an extremely beautiful princess. Why objectify a teenage girl when the point of the movie is something more than finding true love (I think)? I love the Disney princesses, don’t get me wrong, but I want to see something different and I think Merida’s design will help.

From what I’ve seen, Merida’s most unusual feature is the shape of her cheeks, which are full and soft but at the same time tense with her determined facial expressions (maybe this reflects her character? Soft but strong?). She also has an overbite, which I find awkward but kind of charming. They probably didn’t have orthodontists back then! :stuck_out_tongue:

She almost reminds me of model Lily Cole, but with not as many childlike features.

I wonder show she keeps all her hair in that hood. It reminds me of Kyle from South Park, how does he keep his hat on with his hair?

Yeah! That’s a good point. It must be a stretchy hood that’s very strong.

Maybe Tangled would be a better title for this film than or the Rapunzel one!

Good point SoA.
Honestly I’m wincing at the thought of her putting a comb through that hair. It probably does indeed get tangled often and her mother would probably have to chase her around to get her to actually brush it to begin with.
