I’m talking about how some woman in diffrent cultures are forced to amrry. Like Jasmine, she was being forced until her father changed the law. Not sure if medeval Scotland did this but it seems so so far.

I’m not sure about this, but she seems to be on an awkward age, at least judging by her looks.

She seems quite childish, so I would say she’s about 14. Also an age were she would be forced to marry urgently.

I see Merida as being around 15 or so. She does look quite young, but most kids today look older than they actually are, at least to me. Every generation seems to look more mature than the last. So based on its place in history, I bet Merida is older than she would look to us.

How old are the guys her parent’s are choosing to marry her? I know in some cultures they make like 16 year old girls marry men who are almost 30.

I’ve registered to this forum to bring some light about the song and artist singing this Scottish Gaelic song on the trailer I discovered during the Oscars ceremony.

This talented Scottish singer is Julie Fowlis and the song is called : “Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird a’ Chuain” and features on Julie’s first album.
