Yeah she probably does. ![]()
I wonder why they always wear the same dress. arnât they suppose to look pretty? The same dress would get boring at one point.
Well, I suppose most of them have explanations:
Snow White kept the same dress she was wearing when she escaped into the woods. She hadnât another one to dress.
Cinderella had just one dress because it was the one she got from the Godmother. She probably had more later.
Sleeping Beauty got hers and didnât have a chance to change it since all following events happened the same day.
The Little Mermaid⊠Well, she is a fish, so she probably didnât have many dresses in her castle. She changed outfits a couple of times while living on land, though.
Belle also had some changes while living in the castle. No wonder, since sheâs the only princess to be friends with a wardrobe.
Jasmine had the same dress on most of the time, admittedly. Thankfully, Jafar made her put on that great red outfit at the end.
And Rapunzel⊠Well, she lived on a tower, so she hadnât to attend balls and stuff. She probably didnât have many outfits. Also, all happens in a short time, before she could get changed.
I alwayâs wondered why Beast had dresses in his castle. Were they his moms⊠or his.
They were probably servants enchanted to be dresses ![]()
No, seriously, those palaces must be nicely equipped.
Now when I think of it, why does he have all of those dresses? you are right Pixarfan91.
Maybe one of the serventâs was turned into yarn and forced to be made into a dress. Just think, It didnât wanna but all the other servents gained up on it. They never went back to being human and stayed a dress forever.
Maybe they are literly HIS dresses.
Yo do love drag jokes ![]()
PS: Letâs back to topic and discuss about the dresses in the BatB board.
So how close to real celtic mythology do you guys think Brave will go?
If they do use faeries and what not⊠well, letâs just say traditional celtic faeries are a little different to Disney âfairysâ. They seem to be the blue light, or at least associated with it from the trailers.
They are used to describe a lot of different creatures in mythology (like for example a banshee is technically one), though they sometimes tend to be tricky little beggers, so Iâm wondering if they give/tempt Meridth exactly what she wishes but sheâs not careful with her wording giving them waaay too much wiggle room in which to have some fun with humans.
Stone circles are also associated with them at times.
Faeries are interesting as a belief and hung on for a long time, apparently my Uncle, who is ten years older than my dad was dressed as a girl until he was five to stave off being taken away by faeries. (More or less the idea was boys were stolen for work, they didnât want girls and at five they were too heavy to carry off).
Iâm just having this weird imagination of an encounter between Merida and a drunken leprechaun, who is inevitably voiced by John Ratzenberger, and I canât really get it out of my head. That is also how close I think Brave will be to the Celtic folklore.
GUYS! A Japanese Brave trailer just appeared online, and itâs got TONS of new footage!

also, Pricklepants, your idea of Merida with a drunken John Ratzenberger leprechaun is amazing
I will be disappointed if this does not happen.
Nice. I liked the part where [spoil]she was grabbing for the bears paw[/spoil]. I guess that means its a good guy.
Or thatâs her mother transformed, going by details we got months ago of the curse afflicting the family.
Somebodyâs translated the trailer
Even though the article says, âMerida, the filmâs protagonist and Pixarâs first female lead, fires an arrow and astonishes onlookers in a still from the final scene in Brave,â I donât think itâs the final scene of the film, but the final version of the scene. The previous slides show earlier progressions of the film. Itâs poorly written, especially for Time Magazine.
The Japanese trailer is easily the best trailer so far!
Yeah it is^^.
As always, the Pixar Japanese trailer puts the others to shame (but the title they used isnât too good)
Now Iâm totally hyped! (but Iâm still a little afraid of the mother bear thing. Hope it isnât true)
There were mentions of the possible appearance of a leprechaun in the film. I highly doubt it. Leprechauns are part of Irish folklore. Brave is set in Scotland.
Wow! I loved the Japanese trailer! ![]()
Iâm even more excited for this film now! ![]()
i donât know if I can see a leprechaun in a Pixar film. That seems more Dreamworks to me.
