Do you mean Nickelodeon?
Well, Tintin was partly a Nickelodeon film.

pixarmilan- Thanks!
They never used to from a critical standpoint, but both Rango AND The Adventures of Tintin were Nick’s effort. Crazy year, huh?
Anyways, being more awake now, I did find one thing I have a huge problem with… what the heck happened with the Best Song category this year? We have two nominations instead of five! Collision of Worlds got snubbed. >_>
Yes, a lot of their films don’t do well.
Oh, yes, I forgot that Rango was from Nickelodeon too.
Yes, I’m also bothered by the fact that there’s only two Songs.
I never really thought of Rango as a film from Nickelodeon. Always saw it being from Paramount. Anyway, back on topic. Do you guys think Cars 2 will be nominated for Best Film at the Annies?
Maybe. Maybe not. If KFP’s beating of WALL-E is any indication, they have a classical/cartoony preference at the Annies, and if that theory is right then I think it’s highly likely. Then again, it’s up against the sequel to said film, which slaughtered the last Pixar film it was up against so hardly people were leaving the event in disgust. Will they stand their ground on that or will award politics leave KFP2 out in the cold?
It had better at least get a nod for set design. I mean, come on. I don’t care if you liked the film or not, folks; look at those beautiful sets.
I don’t think it’d be fair for any single film to sweep the Annies this year. There were too many good ones and no masterpieces.
Cars 2 is gorgeous to look at.
That alone makes it better than what people normally acknowledges.
I actually like Cars 2, just not enough for it to be the best animated picture of the year.
This. People are free to dislike it, but when I hear somebody say that Pixar slapped it together to make money, I feel sick to my stomach.
YES, money may have had to do with it. YES, Cars is a huge property. But don’t dare tell me that Pixar didn’t put as much work into making Cars 2 as any other film they have put out. Rendering all those sets… handling a complex plot (even if it got a bit too complex here and there) are both things that would have been superfluous if Pixar really didn’t care about the film like people say.
I also agree that the loving detail in Cars 2 is every bit as prominent as in any other Pixar film. The design of all the characters is tight, the colors and rendering are gorgeous, and the amount of detail put into the varied selection of settings is practically photoreal.
Ah, I see that the nominations were announced. What got the most reaction out of me was seeing Zach Galafinakis being nominated for Puss in Boots. I wasn’t really kean for his performance in that film.
Yeah, that was baffling. I like that Arthur Christmas has gotten a lot of nods.
Cars 2 doesn’t have a chance in the Annies.
Maybe on other categories, but not Best Film.
That’s what I mean.
I also can’t believe Fanboy and Chum Chum got nominated for Best Animated Television Production. That show sucks. I met kids who hate it.
I’m surprised MLP is nowhere to be seen in the TV nominations.
Also, James Hong for voice acting please.
I hate that show so much.
I hate that show too. Nick really should cancel that show sometime soon since it’s barely on the network.
That is such a terrible show, I can’t stand it either. It is almost as bad as “League of Super Evil”. Thank your lucky stars if you have never had to suffer through that. But this is getting kind of off topic, is there a thread on bad kids shows? If not, we should start one!
