Central Cars 2 Discussion (Part 2)

maybe the entire cast has recorded their voice for this cars toon.I hope so  I would like to see all the characters sally, finn, holley, mcqueen… and some diferent than tall tales, maybe something like pixar did with toy story toons hawaian vacation

^Yeah! Or something more like “Mater and the Ghostlight”.

exactly!!! something diferent more mcqueen and the other character and less mater

I love the spy shorts idea. And maybe some more Radiator Springs ones! With Luigi!

Yes!! And you can’t have more Luigi without more Guido! <3 Thank goodness he was still in the sequel…how can you cut something as cute as that? 8D

Well you can’t go to Italy without Luigi and Guido, can you? 8D

Touche. :sunglasses: I loved that part of the film!

I did see some of the Cars Toons like Tokyo Mater and I thought that they were decent. I think that they were just testing shorts for Cars 2 though. Not that they were bad or anything but I didn’t really care all that much for them. Anyway, Cars 2 just felt like a really good DW’s film to me but a pretty good Pixar film overall.

Yeah, I liked the earlier toons they made but a few were too far-fetched for my liking.

Anyway, Cars 2 just felt like a really good DW’s film to me but a pretty good Pixar film overall.

Great analogy, I agree with you.

Are any of the other characters besides him in these shorts, like Lightning? I haven’t seen them, so I probably shouldn’t critize them. I agree that he is the funniest character, but couldn’t they at least PUT some of the other main characters in them along with Mater?

Amy43,
Yep, Lightning is always Tuh-Mater’s unwilling sidekick. And the other characters sometimes appear, too. It isn’t just Mater, although he is the main character.

The other characters appear, but in cameo roles and mostly don’t have any lines. Except Lightning, who is in every one, but isn’t as prominent because they couldn’t get his original voice actors to do the shorts.

I would LOVE that!

I would of cried if Guido wasn’t in the second movie. I nearly died when he was crying over Mater leaving. His huge brown eyes…<3 I always say this but it’s too adorable how he only knows like three words in English. 8D

I’ll admit that I like the Mater’s Tall Tales. They’re funny. shrug I think my favorite is Private Eye Mater or maybe Moon Mater (which I know is probably Roger’s favorite.) But it seems like the tall tales are only a part of Cars Toons in general which makes me think that they are going to be different subtypes of toons. Like the spy ones or a general Radiator Springs one (which I would love the best, personally.)

Yeah, Mia and Tia are in every one actually but are always cameo and only have lines in Private Eye. Sheriff and Guido have a line in Towyko Mater. I think that’s it.

Yeah, they did put some of the Radiator Springs Gang in the Cars Toons. They didn’t say much but at least they made cameos.

I liked the film. Even more than the first cause it’s not so boring and it has a more adult story.
But hell, I never would have expected that Cars 2 is violent. :open_mouth: I mean, if you just look at those 3 scenes… (SPOILER)

Kinda scary for a Pixar/Disney film… :open_mouth:
But I still like it. Makes it much more exciting. My cousin (5) wasn’t even afraid of those scenes.

^I thought it was kind of violent too, compared to the last film at least. My younger brother loved it though! And I don’t suppose you can have a spy movie without some violence, now can you?

I can understand parents complaning that Cars 2 was too violent for kids. I was supprised when I first found out Cars 2 got a “G” rating which I never understood. I mean, there are explosions and gun shots in the movie. Young children probably wouldn’t know what was going on which is understandable.

Yeah, I was stunned it got a “G” as well. What did the first one get? The first one wasn’t bad for violence but had more cuss words. Personally, it doesn’t bother me and I think people make too big of a deal about it sometimes. Considering what society is like these days I don’t think it will hurt kids if they hear the odd, mildly bad word or see the dangers of a gun.

The first movie had a “G” rating also. Except for the direct “I’m in hillbilly hell!”, it was mostly subliminal messages like “He did what in his cup?” or “Racecars don’t need headlights because the track is always lit.” “So is my brother but he still needs headlights.” Little kids aren’t going to get those. Let’s be honest- I didn’t get those for the longest time. 8D Isn’t The Incredibles the only “PG” rated Pixar movie? I don’t really know about Cars 2, it had none of the same types of jokes in the first movie but was filled with violence and etc. I agree with you, MissCarrera. Kids probably experience worse at schools nowadays.

U.S. Motion Picture Rating System:

G- General Audiences - All Ages Admitted. There is no content that would be objectionable to most parents. These films may contain beyond polite language but no swearing. As with violence it must be mild, if any, without any blood or gore. Nudity must be natural and non-sexual. Examples includes Rio, Horton Hears a Who!, Winnie the Pooh and most of Pixar Studios’ movies, including the Toy Story trilogy, Cars, Ratatouille and WALL-E.

I had to put it just because Cars was directly mentioned. 8D Reading the difference between the two ratings, I think the second movie was appropriate for a “G”- it was only violence and there was no blood or anything…right? :open_mouth: “G” or “PG”- Psh, I don’t look at the ratings anyway. o_0
