yeah sally’s better, I don’t know why, but holley is really nice too and interesting character, but no like sally, sally is a little more funny and holley is little more serious 'cause she’s a spy. I would like see more romance in this movie like the first cars between mcqueen and sally and some with mater and holley. I liked holley, but sally’s still the one

Really? I feel like I do remember him saying it, just maybe not during the same scene they showed him saying it as in the trailer. (Trailers do that a lot, though.) I thought it was around the part where Mater was trying to get away from Lightning while he was trying to apologize and they chased each other.
Yeah, maybe if there was more between Mater and Holley in the movie, I would of liked her more. But hahaha, yes- I still love Sally, too.
In the trailer, Lightning said it during the Tokyo race but it wasn’t there in the movie. I don’t think he said it during the London chase scene either, he said something like [spoil]“I’m not letting you get away again!”[/spoil] Honestly, I don’t think it was said at all- which sucks, I hate when that happens.

See this is why I’ve lost respect for Pixar and John Lassiter…Cut it out with Mater already!!! Why can’t you have something with all the characters?! Not EVERYBODY likes Mater!!!

that’s right guys!! I’m worried about it, cause it’s like they are trying to make mater the main character when the main character is lightning mcqueen. Mater is getting ‘unbearable’, maybe that’s the reason why the movie had been so “bad” for critics at least I hope sally appears in this short, PLEEEASEEE!!!

I would more than love to see more Cars Toons that focused on the other characters, maybe even some from Cars 2! But I’d still watch this on the DVD, haha. It’s kind of funny.
When Pixar creates shorts based off their movies, they are making them for the maximum amount of humor. Mater is just funnier than Sally or Lightning, which is why the shorts revolve around him. And I think the more recent ones are funnier than the first few, so I’m really not sick of Mater at all.
Not to say I don’t think they could have handled him better in Cars 2. I really just wish he had evolved as a character. I was hoping he would mature and grow a little bit, and learn about the wonders as well as the dangers of the world. Thats what his character arc should have been about, not being himself. But Status Quo is God, and they had to keep him as the same lovable idiot to make more shorts.

…Wer’e not denying that he’s funny…but give the other characters a chance in the spotlight…after a while people get tired of the same character being shoved down our throats…especially a character like Mater…
He’s not being shoved done anyones throat. You don’t have to watch the Mater shorts you know.

Ok I see why you guys don’t want mater as much now but not get riud of him. He is still fun to be with. But i can see why just a little break from mater. Mater is one of my favorite character from cars.
Oh! A new Cars Toon? Sweet! But I must agree…Mater is getting highly over-rated. How about something with Finn? I think a lot of little kids like him and I thought he would have been a bigger star of the film if Mater hadn’t over-powered so much. It would be nice if they strayed a bit from him sometimes or at least brought some light back to the others…McQueen in particular.
Well, Mater is probably liked by some young children. I say this because when I went to see Cars 2, there were some kids that were chanting for Mater and they didn’t really care for the other characters old or new. Do they still even produce the Cars Toons that were on the Disney Channel?
Oh, yes, I’m sure he still is. It’s too bad though because I was expecting more of both Finn and McQueen. Ah well, can’t be changed. And no, they stopped putting them on Disney, there is a DVD of them now with a couple exclusive ones that didn’t air on TV too.
I think something with Finn would be really cool. They’re selling a lot of Finn diecasts at the nearby superstore so I think he’s proving to be popular.
