Central Cars 2 Discussion

Nice conept art! I really like the one of mater in London surrounded by the taxis.

I always had the feeling that Tumbler was a bad guy.

I also suspect some of these characters may be bad too:
Siddeley
Francesco Bernoulli
Miles Axelrod <----- From day 1
Finn McMissile. I sincerely hope no. But there’s some kind of vibe, you know.

You never know whether Mater and Holley might share a kiss… or Lightning and Sally for that matter. I’ve waited five years for the latter!

I have a very strong gut-feeling Miles is a villain too, kinda like Sophie Marceau’s character in ‘The World Is Not Enough’, which had a similar oil supply plot theme.

That kinda stumps me, because we all know the cars’ look is shaped by their occupation/purpose in life, right? So cop cars get sirens because they’re policemen, racing cars get decals and fake headlights cos’ they need sponsors, D.R.H. get ridiculous paint jobs and ladder spoilers cos’ they’re ricer boys, etc. So what job does a taxi cab do? What reason would they have to wear that livery (‘livery’ is a fancy automotive term for body decoration)?

It’s just like those taxi-cab fishes in Shark Tale. There’s no reason why they would be dressed up in such a manner. Now if there was a taxi-cab semi, and he/she transported cars, then that would make sense.

Apparently the buses transport smaller cars, but I can’t get what taxi cabs do either.

And you really love The World is Not Enough, don’t you?

Not really Brosnan’s best (that would be Goldeneye), but I have a soft spot for the theme song and the plot of Bond being betrayed by the one he was supposed to protect.

Agreed. Brosnan’s movies are my least favorite (not his fault, but because of the scripts), but GoldenEye is obviously the best one.

Anyway, I enjoy The World is not Enough a lot, but it also has some of the worst elements of the series (Christmas Jones, anyone? And that awful ending…) But I love M’s involvement in the plot, the Thames opening and the score, among other thing, so I put it as the second Brosnan best.

It’s been said in the first Cars (there’s a taxi character) that taxis show other cars around.

So with tour buses, I’m guessing a line of cars follow them around and take a tour.

That makes buckets of sense! Thanks for reminding us.

Just pointing something out:

In some of the concept art for the buildings, one will notice that everything in the Cars universe is exactly 150% larger than that of our universe.

Hmm, I didn’t really see Tomber being a villain…he deals car parts with mcmissile, but he probably deals weapons for the professor behind mcmissile’s back.

Yes, I noticed. There’s even a side by side comparison of the Eiffel Tower. It makes sense, as cars are larger than humans.

I think Tomber is a villain.

I think Finn McMissile is a villian too. :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope that’s not the case. Secret double agents are so over used in Spy films it’s not even dramatic anymore.

Now Triple Agents? That’s new.

I don’t hope that either because I like Finn McMissile a lot and I’m hoping to use him in fan fictions after the movie. I just need the movie to come out so that I can know his personality.

What are triple agents?

Double agents and triple agents have all been used countless times. But it’s a spy movie convention, so I’m pretty sure there will be at least one in Cars 2.

But I don’t want McMissile to be a villain. He’s already my favorite character (not that a villain can’t be my favorite character). But I wan’t him to be heroic. Don’t know why 8D

I am looking forward to this movie. I don’t usually watch spy movies. But it is an animated movie. I think that I will enjoy this movie. To be honest, I am more excited about the short in front of the movie.

Which scene? It’s been a while since I’ve watched.

The idea of the buildings being to scale makes sense! While pondering fanfic ideas I’ve always wondered about when a car has to enter a building, or an elevator, and how many cars would fit into such a space.

Does the Cars would have elevators? I can’t remember if we ever see them in the first movie. I guess they’d have to with all those sky-scrapers we see in Tokyo, but I always thought they just used ramps.

Well, there are cars elevators in the real world, so they would make sense in the movie.

But no, the don’t appear in the first Cars.

Riiiiiight before the last race. It happens fast. When they’re zooming into to the stadium, if you look at the crowd of cars, you’ll see a brown cars with a taxi sign on top. In the car finder game, it states that he helps other cars fight their way around the city.

Yes. In Moon Mater, Mater is lifted onto an elevator before getting into Roger the spaceship.
