I wonder whether this will be a red-herring romance like Bolt or Finding Nemo, and they’ll end up as ‘just friends’ as the end of the movie. But it would be interesting if they do end up a pair and Mater can now go on couple dates with Lightning instead of being the ‘third wheel’.
I really love the new posters (finally, we got the translations from the Russian versions) and the cheesy taglines. Y’all know I dig cheesy taglines, right? No really, I do, just look at the kind of sigs I make and wear. Kinda reminds me of the first movie’s poster series too.
The only thing I don’t like is that they included countries like Germany and Russia which won’t be featured in the film. It’s like those ‘fake covers’ done with comic-books which show characters in an imaginary scenario or some fatal situation which doesn’t actually take place in the story. Also, why are there two Japan posters? Guess the Pixarians must be real Sinophiles.

I’m pret-ty sure there’s no Germany and Russia in the film, but I could be wrong. Missed opportunity if you ask me, they could’ve featured the Autobahn or Nuremberg.

looks like Pixar will show the whole film once again in these new TV SPOTS
As anti-Cars 2 as I may have seemed lately, a lot of the new clips have been making me laugh. Even though it’s really cheesy, “Materhosen” cracks me up, as well as Francesco’s obnoxious taunting of Lightning. I’ve pretty much come to terms with the fact that Cars 2 probably won’t be Pixar’s greatest, deepest masterpiece, but as long as it’s exciting and makes me laugh it’s not really a big deal to me. At least Brave is on the way.

tbh i’m actually starting to warm up to this a little. not like, crazy excited or anything, but it looks fun. & a fun, melodrama-free pixar film is what i really need right now, so.

Just like to say that I believe Pixar is taking this trope to a whole new level.
I second this, sums up my sentiments perfectly.
And this. I think it’ll be the most entertaining summer flick next to Pirates of the Carribean. Hopefully Pixar can inject some of that warmth and pathos in the first movie, and cut down on the toilet humour.

Very eager to see Radiator Springs five years on. It’s like returning to a place you’ve visited before and seeing how much it’s changed… only this is in a movie.
As much as I (constructively) criticise things, I always believe in the good of people and movies. If something was made with good intentions, I am willing to forgive the poor execution.
