I dislike those books cause they’re always released a lot of time before the movie and then the plot is already known by a lot of people.
I actually did get the novelization of Cars 2 but I’m waiting to read it till after I see the movie. I dont mind a few spoilers, but I dont wanna know the whole plot yet…Although I will admit I glanced at the beginning because I wanted to find out the reason why “Hudson Hornet” was painted on his hood. (I had a general idea why, but I wanted to know the exact reason)
ya ughh those books are major spoilers. especially the golden book cars 2, complete story. it gives the whole story…i saw a review of it on youtube and the guy was flipping through each page fast. they should release these kind of books after movie comes out.
btw when the guy was flipping through one of the pages, the radiator springs crew look like they have a big part in this movie…
Heres what i saw…based on only what i saw (spoiler)
i saw some of the radiator springs folks (red, sherrif, ramone) beating up acer and grem near the end
i really cant wait for this movie. i think its great that pixar is doing something totally new with these characters
And of course there’s also the casino. I’m relieved there’s one in Cars 2.
too much new stuff so far, I’ve been skipping some new clips, however I am dying to see them, just 19 days to go
Don’t worry, SoA, I’m very careful around spoilers. 
I usually don’t discuss without spoiler tags until the DVD has been released, and I know how it feels to have the story prematurely ruined; I had the climatic scene in Rio ‘spoiled’ by some inconsiderate video-makers and fan artists on Youtube and DeviantART, so yeah, I won’t want the same to happen to you guys! I’ll be uploading 'em on my blog anyway, and I’ll only provide a link here with a warning, so you won’t even be seeing it in my post!

a casino??, that’s awesome, I’ve always been thinking about the similarities that would have the film “Cars 2” and the Cars Toons episode “Mater Private Eye”… 
I’m a fan of detective thrillers and film noir… is ‘Mater Private Eye’ good? And does it feature casino? What do you mean by similarities?

If you’re a fan of dectective thrillers and film noir you [i:2t5zqg55]really[/i:2t5zqg55] need to check out ‘Mater Private Eye’ - it doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it’s awesome. One of my favourite Cars Toons! I’m not sure why people are saying it features a casino because to my knowledge it doesn’t - it’s a bar/gentlemen’s club of sorts, I think?

Effluvium: I thought so- I saw a preview clip for it last year and it piqued my interest. As for the gentleman’s club, if you’re referring to the launch party where [spoil]Mater sees the Zen Master[/spoil], that looks to me to be a separate scene. I think the casino may appear in Porto Cosa (I’ve been to Monaco, and the setting really reminded me of that trip).
bryan: I’m not sure if I did mention if I’ve seen all the Cars Toons before; I only saw the first series (Rescue Squad Mater, Mater the Greater, El Materdor and Tokyo Mater). I haven’t seen the newer ones.
Not sure if you’re referencing a movie, EJE? Which reminds me, I should check out Pulp Fiction (“Casino Royale with Cheese”).

Also, I don’t think it’s been posted here, but here is the (I think) final Japanese theatrical trailer. Now those who have seen the Japanese trailers for previous Pixar films would know that while they tend to have more emotional editing than the (cornball) US and International versions, they are very SPOILERIFIC. So with that in mind, I scrolled through a bit and yes, I have a gut feeling that it gives away a couple of plot points, so I’m not watching it in its entirety.
But if you’re curious, you can watch it HERE. HERE THERE BE SPOILERS (possibly).

The Japanese trailer TDIT posted (which is filled with spoilers!) is the best trailer we’ve seen so far. Why do the Japanese make such awesome trailers - remember Tangled’s trailer? After watching it a few times, it’s safe to say that this movie will have a lot more heart-warming moments than the first - which is fantastic.
I seriously cannot wait much longer for this movie. It’s so annoying that I have to wait until July 22 before seeing it though. 
Hm, nice to know, Spirit, but I would have preferred to have been left guessing instead of having my prediction confirmed.

I struggle to understand why the American and International trailers have to be edited in such a cornball and silly manner compared to the Japanese’ more sentimental and heartwarming approach. I bet if they edited the trailer in a similar manner (but without the spoilers) for the Western market, there will be less of this “animation is for kids” prejudice. And that’s the difference; the Japanese aren’t afraid to treat animated films on the same level as live-action ones. It’s not a cultural thing, as we have seen with our members from other Western countries, so I’m wondering why the marketing department still thinks that its target audience is made up of five-year-olds who like fart jokes and loud pop music.
And the Japanese’ respect for animation is not exclusive to Pixar.
Well, I didn’t know you were “guessing”. It has been featured on countless releases, clips and artwork. So it can’t be considered a spoiler, sorry.
I don’t know anything more about this movie than everyone here, I’ve just seen the official information.
